ALO (Animal Liberation Orchestra)
Signs to Brushfire Records and Announces Fall Headlining Tour!

After a hugely successful summer touring with Jack Johnson, the funky quartet has signed to his label.

ALO (Animal Liberation Orchestra) is on fire ...Brushfire Records to be exact. After spending the summer playing sold out shows nationwide on tour with Jack Johnson, ALO have now signed to his label and are heading out on a coast-to-coast headlining tour in support of their new album, Fly Between Falls.

"I always thought this band would be huge if they got in front of the right audience," said Johnson.

Brushfire Records, which was founded by Johnson, his wife Kim and Emmett Malloy, and is distributed by the Universal Music Group, will be immediately expanding the release of Fly Between Falls to independent record stores nationally and will have a broad release to all music retailers in January 2006.

The album, dubbed "infectious, funky, laid-back perfection," shows the passionate and rhythmic quartet possess a balance of instrumental and lyrical prowess, as well as the ability to turn crowds into a dancing frenzy full of wild abandon. It also includes the track "Girl, I Wanna Lay You Down," an ALO fan favorite that Jack Johnson has been playing in his own shows for years and performed with ALO throughout the summer.

ALO's move to Brushfire Records was a natural choice as the bands have been connected in friendship and musical exploration since their college days at the University of California – Santa Barbara. This summer, ALO's main vocalist Zach Gill commanded the keys and accordion for both bands during the tour while guitarist Dan Lebowitz made special appearances on steel guitar during Jack's set.

ALO's fall tour started last week in San Diego and has been labeled a "Tour Du Jour" by Pollstar. The band will move through the Midwest and reach the East Coast by mid-November before heading off to Japan.
