Each of the musical artists features various flavors of improvisational music, exploring in-the-moment creation of sounds, beats and grooves. Featuring members of Garaj Mahal, Geo Trio is an explosive journey to the unknown. Consisting of, Alan Hertz, Eric Levy and Kai Eckhardt, Geo Trio gives a whole new meaning to the word improvisation. With each member having over 25 years of musical experience and education, collectively Geo Trio brings a whole new flare and style to the stage. They allow your mind to expand while giving you the room to groove. Somethingfour fuses original composed music and improvised sounds while blending in influences of hard bopping jazz and experimental rock. Spindrift combines elements of quality songwriting with extended improvisations to provide a boundary-pushing, crowd-pleasing, booty-shaking sound.
"Creating the space for art and music to come together in our community is what brings people together," says Chris Zanardi, guitarist for Somethingfour.
In conjunction with the music, Global Fusion will exhibit new photographs from the recently completed 13-month expedition that took award winning artist Lyn Bishop and international journalist Taro Tsuzuki across the globe. Through their photographs, weekly weblog and Fusion Journal, Global Fusion strives to de-mystify differences and promote greater understanding of cultures. "We are often asked what we learned on our journey," says artist Lyn Bishop. "I think the most important thing we came home with is just how unique and special each place in the world is and that there is little need for all the fear in the world."
"Global Fusion is founded on the belief that when we understand each other through experiences, we are better prepared to create a world based on acceptance and peace," says Tsuzuki.
