VEGOOSE IS LOOSE! 10.28 - 10.31 : : LAS VEGAS

Well folks, it's official, VEGOOSE IS ON! After months of speculation and rumors AC Entertainment and Superfly Presents have announced the dates and the place. As their fresh new website tells us: MUSIC. MASKS. MADNESS. VEGOOSE. OCTOBER 28 - 31, 2005. LAS VEGAS. For now, that's all we know. While no official line-up has been announced and no venues set, it appears that several big names will convene in Las Vegas utilizing the wide array of venues available. With the event wrapping up on Halloween one would have to assume that Masks will be in affect and Music Madness for all. Stay tuned as JamBase will be sure to follow up with details as they become available.

I live here. Last April when phish played, the Las Vegas Jamband Society threw an amazing after party with Umphreys playin the Schinta room at the Rio. Best part was the disco intermission and playin roulette with the heads. Gonna be great.

just another festival of mediocre talent trying to match the experience that normally would only require one certain band who we all know is no longer.

I've done some searches on it and I've seen these names come up alot: Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews Band, Trey, Widespread Panic, Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, MOE, String Cheese Incident, Mike Gordon and Leo Kottke,Gov’t Mule, The Allman Brothers Band, 311, Keller Williams, the Black Crowes, Umphrey’s McGee, The John Mayer Trio, Wilco, Ryan Adams, and Galactic. Haven't seen any mention about Pink Floyd but that would be freakin' awesome if they did come. I also read some of the layout will be like the Jazzfest different venues on the late night, but the main shows during the daytime will be at Sam Boyd(UNLV) and the other possible late night venues up in the air are; Thomas & Mack Center, MGM Grand Garden Arena, House of Blues. All though alot of this is still here say bands and venues because nothing has been posted offically and there is also an NBA preseason game being held at the thomas 7 mack center on the 28th I think.

It was a hazy night... well... early morning into afternoon... but they Boys said 2 nights for them (I believe) and they are playing on the same bill as Phil And Phriends!!! I also heard Pearl Jam is a definite. Ohh yeah.... also SCI wrapping up fall tour Halloween night in Vegas!!!!

I just got this e-mail from Vegoose:
We're blown away by the buzz about Vegoose. We're working to make Halloween in Vegas a spectacular experience and we can't wait to tell you all about it. We still have some details to finalize, but we expect to announce the line up, ticket info, and other relevant details in early August.
In the meantime, we can tell you this:
Vegoose will take place on Saturday and Sunday, October 29 and 30, at UNLV's Sam Boyd Stadium and on the surrounding grounds. It will start each day around noon and continue until 10:30 or so in the evening.
In addition, there will be late night shows in several venues in Vegas on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (Halloween). Tickets for these shows will be limited and those who have purchased festival tickets will have first access to purchase tickets for the late night shows.
We encourage you to book your flights and hotel rooms as soon as possible. We're making Vegoose a wild and wonderful weekend full of surprises. It's going to be awesome.
Stay tuned. The rest of the info will be coming soon...

I have lived in Vegas for about a year now and can say that coming from the Midwest, Vegas gets the shaft on most tours. I guess everything will all hit me in 4 days. Let's hope to get some bluegrass out here. People look at me like a hillbilly when I crank my yonder

I am totally pumped up for this!! But to have to pay for festaval tickets and late nite tickets it's looking to be a bit pricey. I guess the bands I love only play for the people with the most cash.

From what I've heard, it sounds like Umphrey's, Ween, moe., Flaming Lips are sure things. Phil Lesh is strongly rumored, as is DMB. They had me at Umphrey's, moe. and Ween!

Don't know how the flaming lips are said to be a "sure thing" when they've already committed to play Voodoo fest over that same weekend in New Orleans. Ditto the Dead rumor as Mickey Hart and Planet Drum are playing in the same festival. Still very intriguing to see how this thing shapes up. As a Vegas local I have come to hope for the best but expect the worst when it comes to the music scene. We have been passed over by bands so many times in the past that it's really hard to get your hopes up, I really hope that this thing takes off. Also, for some odd reason Vegas seems to have some of the highest ticket prices when it comes to shows, hopefully this won't be the case here.

Wikipedia has some kind of line up for 2006, but i don't know how accurate it is. Roger Waters as a headliner? Oysterhead!, many others

Jenn Sugaree

According to, they will officially announce the lineup next Wednesday...Wikipedia lists the following as 2006 lineup: Roger Waters, Tom Waits, Pearl Jam, The Mars Volta, Jurassic 5, Sound Tribe Sector 9, the Flaming Lips, Coheed and Cambria, Gnarls Barkley, Ween, Umphreys McGee, Buckethead, Galactic, Widespread Panic, Gov't Mule, and more...

I can't say that I'm not a bit disappointed...last years line up was better in my opinion...much better...
