National, regional and local talents collide on a Spotsylvania farm to create a truly unique musical experience. The Haymaker Music Festival is the only place where concert goers will see Keller Williams perform alongside local Virginia favorites such as Cephas & Wiggins, King Wilkie, Hackensaw Boys, AJ Roach, and DJ Williams.
"We couldn't be more excited to have Keller Williams back to our festival. He is a true Virginia treasure – we love his music and we love the talent he's given to the Fredericksburg area," says Jonas Beals, co-founder of Haymaker Productions Inc. Also performing are Drive-By Truckers, Soulive, Particle, The Wailers, Adrienne Young and many others.
On May 20th and 21st 2005, The Haymaker Music Festival will feature over 25 bands on three stages on historic Oakley Farm in Spotsylvania, VA. The 3800-acre family timber and cattle farm is a national example of environmentally-friendly farming and land conservation. Patrons will camp on beautiful rolling hayfields that will act as the festival grounds; giving everyone ample room to stretch out, enjoy the weekend, and listen to the best music Virginia has to offer.
Haymaker Productions has been organizing and producing music festivals and events for three years in both the Fredericksburg and Richmond areas. The inaugural Haymaker Music Festival took place on Oakley Farm in October of 2002. The festival was a great success, drawing patrons from around the corner and across the nation.
The goal of Haymaker Productions in organizing this year's festival was to create an exceptional lineup that fit the personality of the farm, all at a great price. "We wanted to give people a wide variety of music to try to create a universal appeal. This festival is for everyone," says Haymaker organizer Steven Leighty. "We wanted to bring the best talent from around the country and throughout the region to the Fredericksburg area at an affordable price."
Tickets will cost festival goers $75 if purchased in advance. A limited number of earlybird tickets will be offered for $55 online. Ticket price includes camping for the weekend. Proceeds from the event will go to the George Beals Leadership foundation and the Dr. Jocelyn Leighty Rodgers Memorial Veterinary Scholarship Fund.
