Mebane, NC – To celebrate ten years of spreading the word about great independent music, Leeway's Home Grown Music Network (HGMN) has put together a show that focuses squarely on the future. On April 2nd, 2005, a double-bill of exciting new talent will take the stage at The Pour House Music Hall in Raleigh, NC.
Oklahoma's Green Lemon is rapidly making a name for themselves on the live concert circuit. Their energetic, diverse sound has fans cheering and has drawn repeated high praise from radio station personnel, venue owners, festival promoters, record store owners, and music websites. JamBase.com called Green Lemon "euphoric" and "the sound we've been waiting for" and named them a must-see band for 2005. They were also named #1 "Band You Should Know About" by Relix Magazine. From sweeping soundscapes to new-wave electronica and focused funk-rock, Green Lemon has shown just how capable they are at creating wildly diverse moods and emotions. Their self-titled debut disc has become a constant favorite at HGMN headquarters and their joyful live shows may be the best-kept secret in the land right now.
Based in Asheville, NC, SeepeopleS is the intriguing brainchild of Will Bradford, a multi-instrumental songwriting force who has a powerful way with words. Their latest album The Corn Syrup Conspiracy achieved shocking results when it began landing on the desks of music writers across the country. The disc's political fervor is only increased by the indescribable wonder of the songs themselves, which alternate between aggressive electro-rock, lush indie anthems, moody acoustic musing, and too much more to list. This amazing work from a band that was virtually unknown ignited a palpable buzz, and now the word of SeepeopleS is quickly spreading around the world. In a live setting, the band might turn a song from the album into something entirely different. The diverse trio is ready to step into the spotlight where their music can be fully appreciated by many audiences.
Having two of the HGMN world's rising stars perform on the same bill is a fitting way to celebrate ten years of dedication to good music, and holding the event at The Pour House just makes sense. The comfy venue won HGMN Venue Of The Year for 2004 based on the unflagging dedication to showcasing genuine, original bands and a huge roster of HGMN Bands. We can't think of a better place to celebrate the past and the future of The Home Grown Music Network!
