The second annual 10,000 Lakes Festival is scheduled for July 2-4 at the scenic Soo Pass Ranch in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. 10KLF will be one of the summer's great outdoor music festivals, featuring a broad range of
exceptional talent, from Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter John Mayer, to New Orleans' longest running and most successful rock band The Radiators. Many other artists will be added to the lineup in coming weeks, with the common denominator being quality music.
10KL 2004 will showcase over 50 artists and bands on four stages, including the Barn Stage, on a shady hill overlooking the concert bowl; the Field Stage, where the audience can spread out and soak up some sun; The Saloon Party Stage for intimate concerts and late-night jams; and the Main Stage, where everyone gathers in the evening for major concerts. A new feature of 10KL 2004 will be the Acoustic Guitar Wizards "festival within a festival," featuring some of the world's greatest acoustic guitarists.
Last year's debut festival attracted in excess of 12,000 music fans from across the country for three days of great music and camping under the stars on one of the most beautiful outdoor concert venues in the nation. In addition to being a natural amphitheater, the Soo Pass Ranch, home of the 10,000 Lakes Festival, also contains 10 separate campgrounds. Relax in beautiful Lake Sallie Campground, with over 4,000 feet of lake shoreline, or the magnificent wooded campsites in the North Woods and VIP areas. All campsites are within easy walking distance of the concert bowl, and open field camping suitable for large groups is featured in Viking and Blue Ox. All campgrounds are well groomed with showers and flush toilets and are suitable for virtually any kind of camping vehicle.
Camping at the 10,000 Lakes Festival is unusually fan-friendly. All campgrounds have permanent roads and lighting, and feature showers, trash and recycling collection, and 24-hour security and medical services. Best of all, there are no serious lines to get in. There are multiple entrances to all campgrounds for quick check-in and easy setup. Additionally, pedestrian walkways under the highways flanking the concert bowl allow for safe access to the performance areas and back to the campgrounds after dark.
The concert bowl is ringed with concession stands, vending hip merchandise and healthy food and beverages. In addition to four unique music stages, the concert bowl has permanent restrooms with running water and flush toilets, and lots of room to spread out on lawn chairs and blankets. The vibe is peaceful, friendly, and relaxed.
Tickets go on sale Wednesday, March 17, and may be purchased on line at 10000LakesFestival.com and at all Ticketmaster locations.
