Addison Groove Project releases Archives Cuts Volume Three: Rob's Picks, Fall 03
Addison Groove Project has made available on their website a "downloadable mix-tape" of five new originals and five covers that have recently been featured in the rotation of their never-ending tour. "We learned with our last studio album that it's not always possible to record and release every song we write. And since some of these songs might never make it onto the next studio album, we wanted to get these tracks out so people could hear what we're doing these days. It's kind of like a progress report," said keyboardist and temporary bass player, Rob Marscher.
The tracks were chosen by the band while riding in the van from show to show on their most recent tour and sidelined bass player, John Hall, contributed the insert art that is also available for download. "This is the new medium for music. We're still looking for a way to make live digital downloads available for every show, maybe on a smaller scale than, say, Primus or Phish," said Hall. Hall, who is doing well, is currently unable to tour with the band due to his treatment schedule for cancer. He, and the rest of the band, are optimistic that a return to touring will come soon.
The band has also released details for a 10-date December tour that will include shows in Charlotte, Raleigh, Columbia, Knoxville, Covington, Chicago, Rochester and Hamilton, Ontario. A short holiday run will be announced shortly culminating in a New Years Eve blowout at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston, Massachusetts (with special guest RAQ). Two VIP tickets to the NYE show, along with an autographed poster, are up for auction at www.mimifishman.org
