A to Z Productions will be hosting this year's Creekside Jamboree to be held once again at the picturesque Almost Heaven Campground in Forksville, PA. This year's event, which is rapidly gaining momentum, will be held on June 6th and 7th, 2003.
CSJ's lineup makes for an event of epic proportions, featuring:
The Roots, Israel Vibration, Sound Tribe Sector 9, The New Deal, The Slip, Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra, Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey, Old Crow Medicine Show, Granola Funk Express, and Leslie Helpert, with DJs spinning throughout the event.
CSJ, in its sixth year of production, holds a distinctive quality that is relatively uncommon in the festival scene today. The truly intimate atmosphere and production design bring the audience and artist together with an intimacy virtually nonexistent at larger venues.
"There is a real personal vibe at Creekside, where top-notch musicians seem to really feel comfortable to let loose, relax and make music," says four-year veteran Brady Stopper.
The Creekside Jamboree is more than magical musical moments. There is also the intention to provide a positive community experience as well. Conscious programming makes for a well-rounded event. There is a full scale recycling operation on site, enviro-education booths and a healing arts agenda featuring tai chi, yoga and massage, and a kid's tent.
All of these elements, in an environment where nature permeates everything, makes for a truly uplifting experience. The abundant Loyalsock Creek flows alongside rustic campsites and the mountains surround. With all the turmoil in the political arena it seems more and more important to keep the sprit of community and music alive, and at Creekside Jamboree 2003 it will be flourishing.
