OM Trio is proud to release their new
album, GLOBALPOSITIONINGRECORD, and there is no better venue than Great American Music Hall to celebrate its release. GPR, as the
fans are calling it, demonstrates the bands ability to weave in and out
of genres and also to make a concise, hard-hitting album.
Further adding to the festivities will be Jake Cinninger from Chicago-based
Umphrey's McGee. Jake is making a name
for himself as one of the best guitar players on the touring circuit and OM
Trio is pleased that he will be adding his playing to several songs throughout
the night. Expect other surprises and special guests as well. Opening the show
will be CRATER, featuring Scott Amendola
and Jeff Parker from Tortoise.
With a non-stop national tour schedule, OM Trio has quickly earned the distinction
of being one of the hardest working groups on the road today. The band played
150 shows in 2002, and shows no signs of slowing down in 2003.
The May 29, 2003 show at Great American Music Hall will be OM Trios first
show in SF since before the band left on their extensive Feb-May national tour.
Along the tour, OM Trio performed during Jazzfest in New Orleans, at the Knitting
Factory in NYC, with Charlie Hunter in Philadelphia, at SxSW in Austin, TX and
too many other gigs to mention here.
Please check OM Trios website, www.omtrio.com,
for a plethora of information including the band's full tour schedule along
with individual bios of the band members, an often-updated tour journal, sound
clips, images and more.
