Nucleus announces Spring Tour, with return to Humboldt County
 Nucleus
- one of the most vibrant and original up and coming bands on today's touring
circuit - will embark on a whirlwind coast to coast spring tour to celebrate
the release of their new live album, Live from the Center. Four musicians'
discriminating ears and singular vision have become nucleus, a distillation
of the finest elements out there delivered with refreshing clarity and purpose.
Now officially based in Ithaca, NY, Nucleus will make a return to its Northern
California homeland to headline the Humboldt
Music Festival on April 20. While the band has moved east for the tighter
circuit and steady flow of opportunities, Nucleus enthusiastically embraced
the offer to return to its point of conception to perform on Humboldt's most
popular day of festivities. A short tour has been built around the festival
to complete the experience. Beginning in Buffalo,NY, the tour will jet across
the land to make stops in Colorado and Utah before arriving in California. After
Humboldt the tour will continue down the coast to San Fran, through Arizona
and Missouri and conclude with the band’s debut appearance in The Big
Apple.
Also noteworthy is the appearance of some Nucleus side projects at the Humboldt
Festival. The Pete Ciotti Experience, with PC on drums and featuring
some of Humboldt’s finest players will play an afternoon set of improvised
jazz and jams. Saxman Matt Dickson will make a late night appearance
with Humboldt’s groove royalty, the Hip-Hop Lounge. And guitarist/singer
Piet Dalmolen will play an intimate set of acoustic roots rock'n'roll
with the MP3 Trio.
