On
April 6th, 2003, an individual vaulted on stage of The
Disco Biscuits show at the Gothic Theatre
in Denver, CO and stole DirtyBill,
the world famous gnome. The individual was chased by security officers but managed
to escape. DirtyBill means a lot to many people including The Disco Biscuits.
DirtyBill is the cornerstone of DirtyBill Enterprises, a simple initiative
aimed at bringing the indefinable feeling of a soulfully synchronized life to
everyone who crosses the path of the world famous gnome. He has been traveling
the globe since 1999, helping to deliver the message that everyone can shape
his or her own destiny and experience such an existence. His positive influence
helps unleash the unlimited potential we all possess.
DirtyBill's
adventures include treks to China, Brazil, United Kingdom, and nearly all 50
US states. He's been on stage with The Disco
Biscuits, Trey Anastasio, RatDog
and Oysterhead. He's met Courtney Love,
Tommy Chong, Tony Hawk, Tom Green, and Bobcat Goldthwait.
DirtyBill was also responsible for the successful fan-based campaign which
resulted in the audience, at Phish's Las Vegas show on September 30, 2000, singing
Happy Birthday to Trey Anastasio at the start of the second set.
The moment was captured on the Phish: Live in Vegas DVD.
