Imagine the southern summer music festivals as a meal: obviously the main course will be Bonnaroo, Hobstock Festival will be the desert, and the appetizer will be Nashville River Stages in Nashville, Tennessee on May 2nd, 3rd and 4th. "Whoa, but wait Steve, aren’t John Mayer and Def Leppard playing that festival?" you ask. Well yes... But there is a solution and a way to avoid sitting through an hour of "Your Body is a Wonderland" just to hear a band that no one around you will dig: a special stage just for jamband music.
This year’s line-up for the "special" stage includes Particle, Disco Biscuits, Gov't Mule, Jerry Joseph and The Jackmormons, North Mississippi Allstars, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Bloodkin, Sound Tribe Sector 9, Donna The Buffalo and Karl Denson's Tiny Universe. This stage might be just for jamband music, but there are four stages that are worth venturing off to see, with artists such as Joe Cocker, Caitlin Cary, Jason Mraz, Buddy Guy, Keb Mo, and Steve Winwood. Also, fans of Bloodkin will get an extra bonus because Danny Hutchinson will also be playing a solo acoustic set on the acoustic stage.
With a limited time price of only $40 for the three-day pass, it is a steal for a lineup with such big names and will for sure tie anyone over until Bonnaroo or Hobstock Festival. Tickets can be picked up at Ticketmaster or bestbuynashvilleriverstages.com
