To
kick off their latest release, Addison Groove
Project is preparing for an exciting run of shows to conclude 2002. On Friday,
December 27, AGP will be returning to the House
of Blues in Cambridge, MA for a special intimate holiday show to release their
new live album. Saturday, December 28 will see the band at the Pearl
Street Nightclub in Northampton (co-billing with Original
P) and on New Year's Eve the band will be in New York City playing
a late night show (2 AM - 6 AM) at the prestigious Mercury
Lounge. All three shows will be CD release concerts in support of Wicked
Live 2.
Wicked Live 2 will be Addison Groove Project's fourth release
and their second official live album. The band's last release, Allophone,
debuted in April of 2002 and has since sold over 1,500 copies. Wicked Live
2 was recorded on October 25 and 26 at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston
and only the best tracks from each night were selected for inclusion on the
final album. A fan forum on Addison Groove Project's website solicited opinions
from audience members and that input was utilized for the final song selection.
As Addison Groove Project continues to tour and grow, the Wicked Live
series will expand as well. "The Wicked Live series is a way for
us to document our evolution," said lead singer Brendan McGinn.
"As the last live album begins to feel outdated, we can always release
something newer to better represent where we are now," he continued. Contrary
to the live albums, the band's studio efforts will explore a more refined approach
to song-crafting, fully utilizing the technology afforded in today's modern
recording environments.
AGP is pleased (as always) to continue their ongoing food drive: Addison
Food Project. Addison Food Project is never more important than around holiday
time and fans of the band are encouraged to bring canned food items to every
single Addison Groove Project performance. The December 27-31 shows are no exception.
Fans in Cambridge, Northampton and New York City are reminded that they will
receive $1 off the purchase price of any merchandise item with a donation of
a canned good to Addison Food Project. All donations aid local food pantries.
