Hello music lovers! The "Friends of Railroad Earth" are pleased to announce
that we are having a raffle to help the band recover from some recent bad luck.
Our grand prize is a custom built acoustic guitar, graciously donated by
Crafters of Tennessee, valued at $2600! This is a beautiful instrument, and
it's looking for a good home!!
As you may or may not know, New Jersey-based Railroad Earth has gone from rehearsing a handful of songs in an old barn in Stillwater, NJ to releasing an album on nationally acclaimed Sugar Hill records in just under two years. The band has
worked tirelessly, criss-crossing the country, to bring their music to small
towns, big cities, and as many music festivals as they could fit into their
busy schedule. In the fall of 2002, after enduring several catastrophes
(including fire!) their beloved 1974 Greyhound tour bus, the "Blue Mule," fell
out of commission. Just a few weeks later, their "backup" van and trailer were
totaled by an 18-wheeler on their way home from a gig in Vermont. Undaunted,
they have continued to travel in rented and borrowed vehicles, but they need
our help!
Please visit Friends of Railroad Earth online for more
information about the raffle, or RailroadEarth.com for more information about the band.
Thanks for your support!
