MVVP | 12.05.02 | B.B. King Blues Club | NYC
featuring
Stanton Moore - Galactic
Rich Vogel - Galactic
Johnny Vidacovich - Astral Project
George Porter Jr. - The Meters
Once
again the rest of the country will be jealous of New York City as this all-star
New Orleans line-up takes over B.B.
King Blues Club for one night of unadulterated funk. This line-up
is like no other.
That can always be said for anything Stanton Moore of Galactic is involved
with, but this is the only one, which has two of the world's best drummers facing
off all night long. Johnny Vidacovich and Stanton Moore have played together
since Stanton's college days at Loyola University, where Vidacovich was his
drum teacher. If that weren't enough to get your chops wet, MVVP is rounded
out by the ever-funky George Porter Jr. of the famed Meters on bass and
Rich Vogel of Galactic on the B3 Organ. With Porter just finishing up
a 6-week tour with Gov't Mule and Stanton and Rich ending their fall Galactic
tour this night is sure to bring some serious thunder to BB King's stage.
Not that this group needs the incentive, but this will be the first time that
this funky foursome plays outside of Louisiana. The night will get moving when
Hobex opens the show. What North Mississippi All-Stars is to the blues, Hobex
is to soul. So fasten your seat belt and hold on tight as New York City is in
for one hell of funking good time. As always in N.Y.C. special guests come out
of the woodwork when shows like this come to town.
