Moonshine Still is bringing their homespun sound out West for the first time, playing several dates en route to the High Sierra Music Festival in Quincy, CA. Be sure to catch this Central Georgia band as they make their way across Missouri, Colorado, Wyoming and California, spreading their funky grooves, jazzy rhythms and outstanding original songs to new fans out West.
Having recently finished several dates in the Southeast, Moonshine Still continues to draw bigger crowds as words of their incredible shows at intimate venues spreads from fan to fan and town to town. Many of their shows are traded on FurthurNet, with more and more people uploading and downloading sets. These guys are hot— Moonshine Still is the best band to come out of Central Georgia in years, following in the big steps of the Allman Brothers, Widespread Panic, Sector 9 and even REM.
If you haven’t yet heard Moonshine Still, expect killer guitar licks and solos over a solid rhythm section laying down a smooth jam with funky bass and spacey keyboards. Great, soulful vocals with two- and three-part harmonies carry the audience while tight drums and percussion drive the groove, as this six-piece ensemble brings their homegrown magic to stage. If you have seen them, you can be sure to expect more of the same great original music, a few unusual and refreshing covers and an ever-evolving set list with no repeats during consecutive shows. With a small band of loyal followers, the party continues from town to town each night. New fans are known to catch a ride to the next show for as many nights as they can afford, and seasoned fans do their best to catch as many shows as they can whenever the band comes around. Don’t miss your chance when they come to your town!
Moonshine Still will play the High Sierra Music Festival on Friday, July 5 & Saturday, July 6 in Quincy, CA. They will appear on the Americana Stage on Friday from 4:45 to 5:45 pm and on the Showcase Stage on Saturday from 8:00 to 9:15 pm.
High Sierra has also asked guitarist David Shore to sit on a panel discussion for up-and-coming bands. Members of various bands at the festival will take part in the discussion on how to educate other musicians about how they can improve their music and their careers.
After High Sierra, Moonshine Still will once again join Umphrey's McGee, opening for the Umph at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco on Friday, July 12. Be sure to look for them soon in Chicago, Milwaukee, Madison and St. Louis as they head back East on their way home.
