ADIRONDACK MTN FEST | BRIDGING MUSICAL GAPS

Amongst the myriad of festivals springing out of the woodwork this summer, one small family affair has blossomed into a serious gathering of diverse artists in sprawling upstate New York. The Adirondack Mountain Music Festival, popping off June 7-9 in beautiful Lyonsdale, New York, is gonna be monumental. Taking place right outside of Syracuse at the Moose River Campgrounds, this first annual music fest is also the debut of Top Ranking Productions.

Boasting a line-up that runs the gamut, festival organizers & Top Ranking Productions envisioned an ensemble of performers that would cater to the wide ranging interests and pleasures of the Northeast music community, and cull from abroad. This year's AMMF will feature folk, psychedelia, jam, hip-hop, reggae, and all-star collaborations. On Friday headliners include Max Creek and Deep Banana Blackout. The first day will be less hectic than the weekend, allowing festival-goers the opportunity to revel in the campground's luxury, which includes a large lake and many areas smattered with trees for the much-needed shade.

Saturday will be a banger at the AMMF! Jamaica's own legendary Ernie Smith will roll in for a roots set with the DUB Squad, as will legendary reggae greats Culture (featuring Joseph Hill). Then the double shot of Mos Def and Talib Kweli are BLACK STAR, with jazzbo-dub-hop giants Soulive raging into the wee hours.

Sunday will take the vibe to even more different places, going intergalactic-planetary with DJ Logic's Project Logic, reuniting old-school Boston groove foundation Lettuce, bringing the crunk-jazz of John Scofield, and then finishing the epic getaway with an all-star jam session featuring John Medeski, DJ Logic, Adam Deitch, Garret Sayers, Eric Krasno, Sam Kinninger and John Scofield.

Other artists at the Adirondack Mountain Music Festival include Northeast up-and-comers Spins Around Red, Incognito Sofa Love, reggae DJs Itation Sound System and the Black Rebels. Also on the scene will be Burlington Vermont's Phish-a-likes RAQ and the ever-evolving psychedelic funksters Turkey Bouillon Mafia.

Also appearing are: Strangefolk, Psychedelic Breakfast, Spiral Mirror, and hip-hop Deadheads Granola Funk Express.
