HOOPING IN THE STREETS THIS SUMMER

Summer's here and the time is right, for hooping in the streets! Coinciding with an early spring heat wave that is making its way across the central part of the country, Boulder Colorado's The String Cheese Incident announced their Summer Tour dates that will take the band on a very similar path -- one that is middle-America heavy in dates and features several first-rate venues and special guests.

The tour kicks off with three fun-filled nights at the historic Fox Theater in St. Louis (June 17-19). From St. Louis, the band will move south to play at least 2 sets before a crowd in excess of 60,000 freeks at the ultimate jam-band festival, Bonnaroo, in Manchester, TN (June 21-23) (One set will feature guitar maestro and one-man band, Keller Williams). The band's tour will return to the banks of the Big River on June 26, at Mud Island in Memphis, before heading back inside to play at Barton Coliseum in Little Rock, AK on June 27. The nature-loving barefoot boys will then try to set the animals free when they play the Zoo Amphitheatre in Oklahoma City (June 28), before heading to play the Starlight Amphitheatre in Kansas City on June 29.

A very special mid-Tour homecoming will occur with two Independence Day holiday Incidents at The Meadows in Steamboat, CO (July 3 and 4) and two Incidents at Red Rocks (July 5 and 6). The July 3 Steamboat Incident will also feature bluegrass phenoms, The Yonder Mountain String Band and bluegrass legend Earl Scruggs opening. The fireworks on July 4 will have everybody Feelin' Good when the Godfather of Soul, Mr. James Brown opens (Corey Harris will also open the July 4 show). At Red Rocks, Robert Randolph & the Family Band will be the supporting act both nights and will be bringing their unique blend of "Sacred Steel" music to the natural amphitheater for what is sure to be a religious experience.

After a brief respite, the tour will resume with a camp-out at the River's Edge in Somerset, Wisconsin on July 10 and 11, before heading to the historic sheds at Alpine Valley (July 12) and Deer Creek (July 13), with Ben Harper opening at both shows. SCI will make their triumphant return to Cleveland on July 14, where they will take the intimate Nautica Stage for the first time as the headliner, before heading up to the picturesque Darien Lake amphitheatre (July 16), where the boys will be joined by the Afro-centric rhythms of Femi Kuti, the unique brand of zydeco bluegrass of Donna the Buffalo and joined by what is likely to be a large turnout of the Herd of fans that follow them.

SCI will then play one of the most anticipated Incidents of the summer on July 18 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD, in which the David Grisman Quintet, Peter Rowan, Tony Rice and "others" are scheduled to join the boys in what is sure to be a clusterpluck of historic proportions (bluegrass fans--DO NOT miss this one). From Merriweather, SCI will turn into the homestretch with two indoor Incidents at the venerable and storied Radio City Music Hall in NYC (July 19 and 20), before winding up the tour at the Paul E. Tsongas Center in Lowell, MA on July 21.

Tickets for all of the Summer Tour Incidents will be available at SCITicketing.com starting on Wednesday, April 24. For more information see StringCheeseIncident.com.
