To celebrate the release of their first live album, “Soulwork Squares
Off With the Supervillain,” Boston’s Soulwork will play a string of shows throughout the Northeast. The band will kick off the tour on Friday, March 1st with a CD release party at Harper's Ferry in Boston.
For those who don’t know, Soulwork was nominated for "Best Funk Band" in the 2001 Boston Music Awards and “Best Party Band” in Hartford. The band has been selling out venues in the Boston area from the House of Blues in Cambridge to the Common Ground in Allston and the Milky Way in Jamaica Plain, and is ready to unleash their sound on the Northeast. Featuring Sinclair Jennings, Jr. on vocals, Ryan J. Harris on bass, Kevin Emerson on drums, Gabe Johnson (Jive Talkin’ Robots) on guitar, and Joshua Gold (HoneyPot) on vintage keys, these guys play real-deal soul. Don’t miss out!

"Soulwork has built a reputation for dynamic live performances of original soul and funk music. Their songs feature captivating vocals reminiscent of Motown greats and a skin-tight rhythm section.”
The Boston Music Awards, 2001
"New Millennium R&B/Soul and fast becoming a Beantown favorite. Soulwork exhibits one of the Northeast's tightest rhythm sections dancing just below a voice that may have Motown scurrying for a look."
The Northampton Music Festival, 2001
"Boston is fast becoming THE SOURCE for great R&B, funk, and all the related children of the genre. With press and buzz galore, SOULWORK delivers on so many levels. Tight, booty-shakin' grooves and rich, soulful singing from Sinclair Jennings Jr.... turning heads and ears to the east-coast-Bo-town..."
"While most bands claim to be soul music, this is the first band I've seen in 10 years that actually qualifies. Having recently added Gabe Johnson on guitar & Josh Gold on keys, these guys are ready to take off. With a nomination for best funk and soul act in Boston at last year's Boston Music Awards, you gotta catch them before they get too big!”
