MGMT Rerelease Time To Pretend

Fans of MGMT who don't cringe at the first few opening bars of "Kids" or "Time To Pretend" are in luck. While the Brooklyn based duo is putting the finishing touches on a new album, Cantora Records will release a re-mastered version of the group's debut EP, Time To Pretend. This edition is available in stores nationwide and online here.

Co-produced by David Perlick Molinari of French Horn Rebellion and released in 2005, Time to Pretend offers the first official versions of the radio friendly breakout hits that MGMT became notorious for. The Re-mastered edition will also include four exclusive tracks found only on the EP.

MGMT first formed in 2002, during Ben Goldwasser and Andrew Van Wyngarden's freshman year as students at Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT. Finding an unlikely middle point between Suicide's hostile proto-electro punk art noise and the sardonic, studied, but ultimately pop-friendly sound of the Flaming Lips, MGMT started as musical terrorists but quickly transmogrified into an eclectic, brainy pop group with heavy psychedelic overtones.

Track Listing:
1) Time To Pretend
2) Boogie Down
3) Destrokk
4) Love Always Remains
5) Indie Rokkers
6) Kids
