The incestuous improvisational scene has spawned another love child and that offspring will now, and forever more, be known as SPANK! Conceived in a seedy, art nouveau motel on the wrong side of the tracks in San Francisco, SPANK! is a musical project that is going to blow apart your current concept of the traditional B3 trio.

Eric Kalb, who also lays down the seminal grooves on John Scofield's BUMP with Chris Wood and many other fine musicians, will finally get a chance to show off a bit. Being the backbone for an eight-piece funk band is no small task, but he now has a vehicle for playing out some of those nasty jazz chops.

Ron Levy will be on Hammond organ and bass pedals. Many know Ron as one of the organ players and songwriters for Karl Denson's DANCE LESSONS #2, with Chris Wood, DJ Logic, Charlie Hunter and others. But Ron is also a Grammy nominated producer, arranger and composer with history stretching back to 1966 with Albert King, B.B. King, Freddie Hubbard, Melvin Sparks and many more.

Rounding out the trio, Fuzz will be holding down guitar duties. Fuzz's credits include DJ Logic's PROJECT LOGIC with John Medeski, Marc Ribot and others as well as his own groove jazz side project called B'Gock - ON THE CORNER WITH FUZZ.

Ron Levy, Eric Kalb and Fuzz will be joining forces for some very limited area shows over the next few months. December 12 at Bill's Bar and Lounge in Boston, MA and December 20 at Colorado Brewery & Trading Co in Danbury, CT. More information is available at DeepBananaBlackout And Levtron.
