The Big Wu Family Reunion

Big Wu Family Reunion X and The Return of Jason Fladager

The Big Wu Family Reunion X will be held July 10 – 12 at Harmony Park - one of the countries most beautiful music venues, located in southern Minnesota. This intimate event (limited to only 1500 attendees) will feature two stages of music, camping under the giant oaks, performance artists and painters, unique food and art vendors, canoeing on Lake Geneva and a plethora of surprises and guest appearances.

It is also with great excitement that The Big Wu announces the return of founding member Jason Fladager. Jason will make his return to the band this year beginning with a number of BWFR Pre-Party shows.

In the spirit of charitable giving, The Big Wu has partnered with Vega Productions to rebuild a music and art program in a TBD local school system – each ticket sold will help give the gift of music. Additional details concerning this special project will be released soon.

The initial lineup includes:

The Big Wu (2 Nights)
Great American Taxi featuring Vince Herman
God Johnson
Pert' Near Sandstone
Fat Maw Rooney
Roster McCabe
The Feelin'
The Histronic

Love these guys. Minnesota loves these guys, and seeing that Jason is back with the boys is very uplifting. Harmoney Park is the real deal. I've seen more than a few shows there. It is an absolutley beautiful setting, and only an hour south of the twin cities. The Panic show back on 4th of July '01 was one of the best camping/show experiences ever. It is a relatively small campground, but that's definitely not a bad thing. Very outdoors and intimate. Seeing that this lineup is mostly Minnesota bands there probably won't be a huge demand for tickets outside of the upper midwest. Should be a super chill time.

You know when the sun starts to set, and you notice that the light begins to shift, and you see the leaves in the trees, but you can't tell which tree those leaves are coming from...then you follow them down to the bark on the old oak tree, and then you see the bark begin to move, then you hear the opening chords of Southern Energy through the humid evening, then you hear the crowd, and you feel that Southern Energy... yup, it's been too long since the last reunion, and the Family has some real catching-up to do.

Actually Snooz, tickets are only 30 bucks That is ridiculously affordable. It's affordable because we want everyone who understands what the Reunion vibe is all about to be able to be there, in full boogie. This is Family Reunion 10. It's the final countdown baby.

    We're heading for Venus.

If you haven't been to a Big Wu Family Renunion, do yourself a favor and go. The linup isn't the best, but you won't have a better time for $30. And Harmony Park is awesome - just don't swim in the lake. J Flad is back!

Big Wu would be cool to see, God Johnson isn't good, Great American Taxi would be interesting, I have never seen them before, are they better than Leftover Salmon? Roster McCabe is good... I dont know, Bella Madre fest looks a lot better then this... I bet Big Wu has something up their sleeves though... and the price is right, that is cheaper than camping in a park!!!!

Glad the reunion is back! There were some great lineups over the years, but In glad its going to be a small mostly MN festival this year.

I cant think of a better feeling than pulling into park, mixing up a cocktail, and taking my first walk around the park each year.

Well, I saw one show of GJ, it was the second to last wednesday night show at the Cabooze last summer, the opening band was the New Rebulution. I just wasnt digging it. To say they arent good was an overstep on my part and I sincerely apologize, I just wasnt digging them that night, and that is what I should have said. Minneapolis has a lot of bands, it depends on your definition of Premiere. G.B. Leighton is consistently the most booked musician in the twin cities and they are boring and Brian Leighton is a drunk who calls women the 'C' word, not premiere, but well booked, popular and he makes the money.... Morrison was booked at First Ave headlining weekends more then 5 times, yet no one knows who they are, they are not well known, but they were booked in a premiere venue, and most musicians seem to like them, like Michael Bland (prince and soul asylum drummer) and Dan wilson (lead singer semi-sonic)... God Johnson is one of the most well known bands in the jamband community in Minneapolis, and I guess I expected them to be as dominant as Widespread, my favorite band, so my expectations might have been unrealistic. But, I am going to see GJ in a couple weeks at the Cabooze, so we should get a bunch of people together or something and smoke one down!!! Shoot me a jambase message if anyone is going and is down!

didn't the first one have acts like s9 & umps?

most festivals INCREASE the quality of their acts over time.
