Hannah's Buddies: JB & Golf! And JoJo Tour Dates

Hannah's Buddies featuring John Bell & Friends
02.27 & 02.28 - Orlando, FL

Hannah Elliott with John Bell
The 10th Annual Hannah's Buddies Charity Classic and Silent Auction will take place February 27 and 28, 2009 in Orlando, FL. Events will include four-person team scrambles at the Grand Cypress Golf Resort, awards ceremony, silent auction, and live music by John Bell and Friends.

Friday, February 27 – Bobby Lee Rogers will be joined by a few special guests, including Ike Stubblefield, for a great post-golf celebration at the Hyatt Grand Cypress. Registration for the golf and more info is at www.hannahsbuddies.org.

Saturday, February 28 - JB will be joined by Michael Nichol, Sam Holt and Outformation and The Dirty Dozen Brass Band at the House of Blues Orlando. Dirty Dozen was one of the first bands to play the event and they are returning to celebrate the 10th anniversary.

The first Hannah's Buddies Charity Classic was held in Orlando in 1999. Seventy-five golfers gathered with John Bell of Widespread for a round of golf, dinner, silent auction and sold-out concert at the House of Blues. The golf tournament now occupies two golf courses with more than 250 golfers from around the country and the concert has continued to draw massive crowds and a variety of performers. It all started with Bell wanting to do something to help his goddaughter, Hannah, and children like her afflicted with the neuromuscular disease Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). In its first nine years, more than $1.5 million dollars has been raised for SMA research through this event. Year ten promises to bring even more needed funds for this fight against the number one genetic cause of death in children under two.

In other Panic-related news, JoJo's Mardi Gras Band hits the road in February for a string of dates in Colorado.

I absolutely commend JB for this, but I've been disappointed at this show so many times that I can never go back. Last year it was Charles Walker, the Dynamites and JoJo's Mardi Gras Band. I was most excited about MGB, but they never came out! Not that Walker wasn't awesome, but it was all his show! JB only did a few songs - oh and don't forget about Taylor Hicks, who surprisingly was pretty good on harmonica, but still - where was JoJo? When we got back to SC, we looked on the computer and MGB wasn't even listed as a performer anymore. Hmmmm...

The year before, JB was so wasted after playing golf all day that he only got out like 4 songs w/ Sam Holt, one of which was Papa's and he forgot the words! I know all the words to Papa's! JB said, "Someone must have put something in my drink" and laughed. Funny yea, but I paid for a show dude!

I'm just saying, if you haven't been, give it a go, especially if you live around Orlando. For me, I'm not making that 6 hour drive anymore!

yeah its really not worth more than a few hour drive unless you are going to play ball golf and for the friday night show. i hear thats the one to go too. w/ bobby lee especially if jimmy h. is one of his special guest. herring rodgers sipe was awesome a few years back. the only time i went JB was fucked up. it was pretty entertaining to see him have so much fun. looks like new blue to me.
