Bayliss & Cinninger Acoustic Tix

Special Offers through USTORM for the Annual Acoustic Concert

Cinninger & Bayliss :: 12.15.06 by Brett Saul
In honor of Umphrey's McGee's Brendan Bayliss and Jake Cinninger's Annual Acoustic Holiday Show on December 6 at The Park West in Chicago, the USTORM Foundation is offering special premium packages to help raise some much needed money for music and art educational programs for kids!

With this in mind, they have two special offers for you to take advantage of:

1. Booth Reservations
The Park West is a very beautiful venue, and there are a good number of swanky, leather booths that can be reserved. (The show is GA, however you do need a reservation to sit in a booth.) Your booth options are: a Small Booth (seats up to four people) for just $30.00, or a Large Booth (seats up to six people) for $60.00. Please note that all proceeds from booth sales will go to USTORM. Booths are available to all ages. To reserve your booth, please call The Park West box office (773.929.1322) Monday through Friday between 12:00 and 5:00 p.m. You must reserve your booth with a credit card. Tickets to the show are not included in booth reservations. A limited number of booths are available.

2. USTORM $75 Premium Package (21 and over)
Take advantage of this great offer and help USTORM raise some more funds for the kids. For $75.00, you will get: a ticket to the show, VIP Balcony seating, three hours of Premium Open Bar (7:00 to 10:00 p.m.), and some munchies to snack on. Once again, all proceeds from these premium tickets go towards USTORM, and there are a limited number available, so grab them quick! These tickets are available at The Park West box office, or at Ticketmaster.com.

Please note: If you purchase the package thru Ticketmaster.com, bring your ticket to the merch table at The Park West and you will receive your VIP wristband.

If you have already purchased a regular price, GA ticket to the show but you'd like to upgrade, please email Barry Brown at:

bbjackstraw@yahoo.com

with the subject heading "BB/JC UPGRADE" and he will reply.

No better place to be on that Saturday night that's for sure. Great deals, awesome cause, and good times chillen out listening to two of the most talented musicians in the scene.

Went to this a few years back, kind of a snooze-fest. Better off seeing Kick the McGee. they're much more fun to see live.

Snooze-fest? Are you kidding me chidodger? They play great covers, rare old umphrey's tunes, and it's a chance to hear Jake completeley destroy an acoustic without putting a scratch on it.

Also, IMO that Kick the McGee pre-Rothbury show was a huge disaster. C'mon you can't play a show like that days before big Dave Mathews is visiting the great state of Michigan. Dave should have had the pre-show and an after show. He is the man :)

I'd rather listen to Jake and Brendan play Night Moves over and over and over than three 45minute long improvisational peices by a extremely talented super group. Not.

All jokes aside Jake + Brendan + Chicago (not so much the Park West)=

Great Time.

just trying to get a laugh

sndtribefreek how much molly and X do you take to say that Umph sux musically? You listen to a band that mashes up a bunch of sounds on their Apple computer and "jam" to them on their instuments....see all you non-haters at the park west!

Stop hating people. You haters make the world a terrible place. Maybe you don't think about that, but you do. Go away.

Umphrey's Mcgee is a great band. Period. They are both unbelivable guitar players. Acoustic or Electric, they bring it. I don't care what the cause if you can go see them or their band play do yourself a favor. Jam On.

^^^^^^^ You're absolutely right. While I love tribe, they do not bring much improv at all to their live setting. You can look at a setlist of a tribe show and know exactly how it sounded, every single minute of it. UM is different, you can check their setlists and while you are familiar with each song on it, you don't have a clue where their jams went. To me, thats why UM>STS9... they take risks on stage, night in and night out. Sometimes failing miserably, but othertimes they create musical bliss.

in saying that, I'll be in Milwaukee dancing my ass off to some filthy tribe beats on Friday. See yall there!

i just wrote this big ass rant about how dumb these haters are but i erased it, because i know that anybody who actually plays music and knows of the challenges it present knows that UM is one of the best bands going, and not too many bands would be able to keep up with them on stage. one thing i have noticed is that UM haters are usually die hard fans of some other band that umphrey's is threatening on the popularity scale (I'm lookin at you, sndtribefuckboy)

anyway this whole argument gets carried out on every single UM thread and i'm getting tired of it. you don't see UM fans going around hating on other bands for no reason, because at an UM show ALL music is acceptable, as the band demonstrates at each and every tour stop. people just be hatin' cuz umph's always comes in and does it better than their favorite band.

wow this show is gonna suck real bad . the only thing worse then umphreys is umphreys acoustic this band is talentless and needs to stop touring as soon as possible . hahaha this show will be soo weak

ha and everything that you just said is completely false umphreys suck and they are talentless and they will always suck and umphreys fans give other bands just as much shit so dont act like UM fans dont say that soundtribe or the biscuits suck or are talentless because you are obviously an idiot if you think that.

Oh please. Umphreys are probably the most talented in the scene. (Which who knows what the scene entails these days, besides laptops.) Honestly I don't really care what a band uses as long as it sounds good. But come on, Umphreys has toured with STS9 and Disco Biscuits. Personally I love all three bands. I hate to think that someone can really hate one of these bands but love the other. Sounds like a silly fraternity. Umphs acoustic can be rocking because they can play guitars WELL.

candikorn, in your short time on this site, assuming that you're not a multiple of one of those other d-bags, you have proved to us all that you cannot backup what you say and you just hate for kicks. if people are going to say a band is talentless they need to start posting some examples, or some sort of evidence.

they play shitty guitar hero sludge metal that hurts my ears and is the downfall of the jam scene example listen to the first set of the clifton park ny show and they are a glorified cover band

They have great covers. Usually about one per show-the average of any jam band (that has the capability to cover songs). Oh and they improvise jams fairly seamlessly. I think you just need to check out the right shows. Bonnaroo 02, practically any Chicago, San Fran, and surprisingly Dallas. However I don't think there is hope for you. I like Jack Johnson. So there.
