Hell ya, the Wu is back for some NYE fun! We need you back out in Colorado!

"tha name game" - you are a douche for even bringing up Wu-Tang Clan on Jambase. find some rap site if you wanna whine that your boys aren't back together, you suck.

I thought this was for Wu-Tang, too. I was excited. Dont know who hokers is, but wu-tang has never 'broke up' and probably hasnt realized how musically diverse jambase actually is.

unevenremainder: The Wu Tang Clan will always be dead to me since ODB went RIP. The Wu however is actually playing a show and have been using the name WYE since about '98.

Diverse as Jambase may or may not be (it is a Jamband page) The Wu Tang Clan is not part of it (check for yourself) The Big Wu is (and has been since its creation)

Wu-Tang?? Ya'll are retards. Big Wu has been part of the midwest jam community for a long time now. I remember seeing a bill once for the big wu family reunion with phil on the list of band. NOT WU-TANG, sorry kiddies. And God Johnson kicks ass too. Anybody else out there catch their performances closing the last two years at 10klf?

The Wu-Tang Clan is not part of Jambase because they are not a band. Neither is the Grateful Dead. However, Members of Wu-Tang are in Jambase, RZA, GZA, etc. Wu-Tang Forever, this band should get a new name.

The Wu still rock. Hopefully their ex-guitarist Jason (from God Johnson) will sit in for the Wu's entire NYE set. Should be a great time. Who's bringing the Old Styles?

moonsafari, what an ignorant comment that The Big Wu should change their name. maybe you should change your name to *Derp*?! your post started out so well, too. Go ahead and watch Joe vs. The Volcano on acid with House of Wu playing in the background and get back to us when you've caught up...

RollinRosemary, The Big Wu is *way* better rollin than the Wu-Tang Clan, FYI

Jambase editors - you knew saying WU years eve would be misinterpreted - shame on you.

1. Wu Tang is actually pretty legit. I'm not a jam lover. I'm a music lover. I guess the rest of you are not as open-minded as you may or may not claim to be...?

2. Wu has made some ridiculously great albums. They have been hit or miss live for me. I know they've put on some amazing shows. But at the same time, I saw them in Mil-town once where Chris was 45min late for the show, Cornmeal's amazing guitarist filled in for him and Chris did not live up to that guy's performance. It was just plain unprofessional and quite mediocre. On a good day, the Wu are classic in every sense of the word. On an off day, they frustrate me.

3. I wish they would do some legitimate touring again. Does anyone know why they have called it quits for all intents and purposes (but for a show here and there for the past couple years)?

P.S. those of you who have made a habit out of critiquing and editing all of JamBase's articles really need to figure out something more exciting to do. Like go for a walk or watch a movie or read a book or drink a milkshake or make crop circles in a corn field or eat a bag of pistachios on your neighbors roof or beat someone up with brass knuckles or write some legitimate comment on one of these articles.

You people will sit here and comment on Matthew Sweet, Ryan Adams, Girl Talk, and all of that bullshit... yet you have no respect for Wu-Tang? Boy. Man. God. Jambase doesn't report on Jambands anymore, they quit that a long time ago. Shit.

99-2000 at the Quest was my favorite, Those Alien outfits with the Thiller/Billie Jean jam was F'in great, but 2001 had the line up: Sam Bush Band, Derek Trucks Band, All Mighy Senators, Little Feat, & Of Course 2 nights of the Big Wu headlining. http://www.jambands.com/ShowReviews/content_2002_01_09.01.phtml

Glad to see them back at it. See you all there.

cola21,I by no means have the inside scoop, but Chris has had some serious health issues in the past (heart related I believe) which is why he probably was'nt into it at that Milw. gig and why the band has'nt toured much of late. I miss 'em out here in Ohio and wish Chris and tthe rest of the guys health and hapiness.

interestingly enough, i saw him the first show back from heart surgery and he looked like trey he was so skinny. The show i was referencing was a year later. He had put on enough weight to be called "fat." And when he finally got on stage, Al Oikari was joking about how Chris was at some girls' apartment getting laid. Whether it was that or something else, that really bothered me - especially after almost dying a year ago. But yes, I wish health and happiness to them all. Hopefully the show is great.

The Big Wu's songwriting (which is by Castion, Fladager, VanDerWalker, AND Miller) makes up such a wonderful catalog, every night is like reading a short story novel, mixed in with great covers... I can't wait to be there!!! What a great feeling we get from being together: "Happiness is being one of the gang." "Hey Now, is everybody here?"

Shit yea! Wu-tang is back! No fo-real though, my festy days started with the boys back at the reunion. I am not sure if i will make it back to The TC for the show, but I would absolutely love to be there. Anybody know if jason will be playing? That might make it worth the journey from colorful Colorado.

The Big Woo was the name of the volcano in "joe versus the volcano" that's where the name comes from. they weren't ripping off the wu-tang clan, I don't think its necessary they change their name. besides they're pretty much broken up, right? they just get together once or twice a year now or am i mistaken?

By the way, a million thank you's for past WYE's. Some of the highest times of my life were on stage and with everyone in full boogie. Just say when and we'll do it again!
