that's very cool that Trey is doing that for the people of Nashville.

Why don't they just call it show #2 if its a "dress rehearsal" and they are charging anyhow. It seems strange to say they are charging (benefit or not) for a rehearsal. If this is the new trend, bands should start charging for an hour long "sound check" before the actual show and cash in twice on the same show.

FunkedUp--It's not "show #2" to "cash in twice on the same show" at all. This is the Orchestra's Opening Night. Trey is "borrowing" the Orchestra to try out his new stuff, before the Orchestra does their own show. And they're raising money for music education to boot. How can you knock that?

I'm not knocking doing somethin for charity (yes Jalew I read the article. As I understand it MusiclsTheBest, it says its a dress rehearsal of the show Trey will do with the orchestra at the Ryman that night. All I was saying is that why don't they just hold 2 shows of "Time Turns Elastic" and call one a charity benefit. Why call it a "rehearsal" that is for charity? Hopefully that clarifies. I'm a big Trey and Phish fan for the record.

the orchestra nashville website gives a little more info. trey and don and another fellow will be mic'd up and it will be the very definition of a rehearsal. it will an informal opportunity for them to take a last run through pieces, discuss whatever they discuss, and go in whatever order, to work on whatever sections before the big saturday night debut. the tickets are even GA which never happens in the mother church. i think it sounds pretty cool, a chance to be the fly on the proverbial wall when they prepare for their debut that evening...

word hurricane. I say go ahead and tour the east side with TAB trey and come Spring next year bring Phish to the west coast! and if you're not into that at least play a couple shows on our side. show us some love!
