McDonald (PG) Joins SeepeopleS

Perpetual Groove's Matt McDonald Joins SeepeopleS for Select Dates

SeepeopleS have announced their last full tour of 2008. The band will be playing a few select shows upon concluding their current schedule, and will be spending the majority of their time off the road finishing their highly anticipated forthcoming, and fourth full-length album, Apocalypse Cow Vol. 2, the sequel to the critically acclaimed Vol. 1. The band is also happy to welcome special guest, Matt McDonald, formerly of Perpetual Groove, to the stage for an interesting live collaboration. McDonald, who recently left Perpetual Groove to spend time with his family and pursue new interests, will be joining SeepeopleS for four shows:

06.20 | Sassy Anne's in Knoxville, TN
06.21 | Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh, NC
06.26 | Georgia Theatre in Athens, GA (opening for Toubab Krewe)
08.08 | Trinumeral Festival in Deerfields, NC (w/ Galactic, Lotus and more)

McDonald, who became friends with SeepeopleS while the bands toured together over the years, will help to complete a veritable keyboard and synthesizer assault (with SeepeopleS keyboardist Peter Keys) for the upcoming shows, and fans of either or both bands can expect to hear an arsenal of sounds and some interesting song selections and arrangements. McDonald also has plans to join SeepeopleS frontman Will Bradford in the studio to work on an upcoming unnamed project and release.

SeepeopleS, who were recently nominated for a Jammy Award (Best New Groove 2007), will be on the road until mid-September, and are scheduled to appear at the Vortex Music Festival June 27, Trinumeral Festival August 8, Musefest August 22 & 23, as well as Hookahville on August 29.

He's playing 4 shows with his friends. Not touring full time. There is a big difference.

GlassWorks doesn't read very well. Matt didn't join another band. Clearly GlassDouche wants everyone to think he was fired since he made the same comment on Jambase when Matt announced he was leaving. Clearly you don't like Matt for personal reasons. Why don't you get some balls and tell the man yourself instead of bashing him in public. Wimp. I for one am excited to see what the future holds for him. He played some remix stuff at Amberland and has every intention of still making music, he made that clear from the beginning. Glass Works you are completely transparent, just say you don't like him instead of just making shit up.

Seriously jturner, this is a "too soon" moment if I've ever heard one...

I mean SeepeopleS is gonna be on the road for a while, why does it have to be right now??

I am under the understanding that this is just fun.

Matt is not joining the band, and they have been friends for a long time.

If I had gone from playing all the time in a band, to having a clear schedule ,

it would make sense to play with anyone to keep your chops up. I suspect they, gasp, may even enjoy eachother's company and have plans to make music together, cause it might be fun, and I dare say it enjoyable.

also word to Hrp494....

I find it interesting and ironic that bands like Lotus and Pgroove, who are on your favorites, are big fans of the SeepeopleS. but different floats for ,

er...different boats. whatever....I'm sure you checked out the seepeoples and made an informed decision. thanks for letting everyone know!

SeepeopleS is not only a really good up and coming band, but they're a bunch of really quality guys as well. They played one of the last shows at the Boone Saloon before it burned, and they were some of the most friendly and appreciative guys I've ever met. You could tell that they were really happy people were coming to see them, and that they really were getting off on what they're doing with their lives. Anyways...quit bashin on musicians when they do something you don't like.

Hey Now, Matt did not say he was going to stop working....

He does have a family and the guy has to earn a living. I cannot blame him for whoring out to other bands to keep a job, but to also not have a heavy tour schedule either.
