If anyone is interested in one of the best live acts today I would see Soul Asylum. If you dont know their music a lot, you will recognize a ton of songs, but they aren't just pop like runaway train. They rock hard, Dave Pirner is the most interesting and active person I have seen on stage in a long time. I have seen them a lot and it is a show you wouldn't want to miss!!!

Did you just mention "best live act" and "Soul Asylum" in the same sentence?

last time i went to the Viper room, the band playing there was a terrible death metal band that would make most people on Jambase want to vomit. I seriously question that place's ability to book acts.

Why does LA Guns need to point out that one of their members used to be in Warrant? Both bands are equally irrelevant. By the way, who wouldn't do Juliette Lewis???? Hey msudtg, I saw Soul Asylum open for Neil Young once, they were great, until Neil took the stage, then I promptly forgot who the fuck Soul Asylum were. Thanks Neil, I owe you one.

Seriously though..... a music festival utilizing some of the most influential clubs in the LA music scene, and that's the best you can do?????

All I was saying is that soul asylum is ONE OF THE best live acts today, that is why they have been voted as such for so many years and that the show would be worth seeing. MuffinMan if you havent seen them, please be quiet. I would suggest going to try them out. They aren't just pop rock and when compared to a band like Wilco, Widespreadpanic, Prince, Bob Weir or any of those guys, (I love all these bands) Soul Asylum actually moves around on stage, engages the audience and entertains. If Rodger Clyne or Butch Walker were playing I would say the same thing...
