Hieroglyphics/Blue Scholars Tour

PURE HIP-HOP MASTERS JOIN FORCES ON
"THE FRESHLY DIPPED TOUR"

Blue Scholars by Ryan Lewis
In celebration of its 10th anniversary as an independent label and hip-hop collective, Hiero Imperium (The Hieroglyphics) will embark on a North American tour that will span from mid-summer into fall, joining with Blue Scholars who have been lighting up the underground coming out of Seattle. Combining elements of fashion and music, "The Freshly Dipped Tour" is a nod to Hiero Imperium's prolific past ten years as indie hip-hop industry leaders as well as to the bright future of Hiero Imperium. The 3-month long tour, which runs from July through October, includes dates all across the US, as well as select dates in Canada.

"We are putting this tour together to thank our fans for their years of loyal support, expose them to our new projects including our brand-new lifestyle line, Hiero Jeans (www.hierojeans.com), and to celebrate the ways that hip-hop style has influenced the fashion world," explained Hiero Imperium CEO Tajai Massey.

Hiero Imperium will also debut a special, limited edition "Freshly Dipped Tour" 7” this summer. Available exclusively at the shows, the 7” will include a Hieroglyphics remix of a Blue Scholars track and a Blue Scholars remix of a Hiero track.

NIIICE! 3rd Eye Vision still has to be one of my all-time top 20 rap CD's and I still rock out to At the Helm frequently on the treadmill. Anyone else think it's weird they aren't playing in the Bay considering they're from Oakland? And this story is read as if Del isn't along for the tour? Is that true? DAMN...

That's odd it's been like a couple of hours and Mr. GlassWorks has not come onto this totally unrelated topic to say "Rothsbury Bitches!!" You would officially take over as the most annoying person on these boards, but I feel you are a one trick pony any won't have much shit to talk after July. Some suggestions for topics to keep your stupid fucking postings up in the runnings might be (in no particular order) SCI was the GREATEST EVA! or tDB SUX! Yonder is Shitgrass (?) Waka is a police state! etc. It is hard to believe that you can hype a festi SOOO RIDICULOUSLY with NO poroven track record...Have fun

The tour announcement didn't mention Del, so I suspect he's not coming out. A check of his MySpace page doesn't list these dates so it seems he's not joining in this time. If someone hears otherwise, please post a note here. Thanks!

Another 15 dates will be added and the Bay Area seems a likely stop.

Where the fuck is DEL? Sorry, but there is no Heiroglyphics with out Del. Would TRIBE tour without Q-Tip? I don't think so. This is bogus to me.

Love Pep Love's flow. The tracks Tammy and For my Family are one of my favorite hip-hop tracks of all time. Would be really tight to catch these guys live. Definitely pioneers of the Underground west. Del is way overrated. His beats are tight, but his flow is whack. With or without him it will be a great set.

I seen Hiero with out Del and it was stil a really good show. Sure it would be better with Del but still good. Also, Del tends to freestyle about 85% of his shows. Nothing against frestyling but I really like his tracks and would rather hear the actual words to the songs. I think his fow is awseome and his beats are average.

Haha, Del "overrated"? What a joke THAT is... No Need for Alarm will always be one of the classic hip-hop albums of all time, Bay Area or not, hands down. And when was the last time a record company released a "best of" album for an "undeground" artist (withouth they're own approval no less)... Golden-era 97 is a lot of freestyling, and that's in a way rap's way of "jamming" I guess you could say, and improv (sometimes unfortunately) is the name of the game! But yeah, I do kinda agree with the above comment a little...
