I saw this announcement yesterday and on the Obama website it stated open to all Indiana residents and each person was able to get 2 tickets. They had them available in Indianapolis, Bloomington, and Lafayette but failed to make them available in Muncie where another State University is so I had a friend get in line for me this morning and they changed things up a little bit making it only one ticket per person and that person had to be registered in the county they were in. With that being said they limited who could go to the show Sunday which didn't make much sense to me but whatever Obama's cmapaign wants to do. It seems to me like they excluded a lot of people and definitely didn't do much for his campaign. I guess all Indiana residents are only in three counties.

Also hillary clinton is a whore, who has bank accounts set up in the Camen Islands for tax purposes only, and yet she thinks that she can get the middle classes vote by acting out a tax plan for the middle class. HA shes such a whore. P.S. bush, clinton, bush, clinton, where is the freedom? it seems that money buys you presidentency.

Why can't fans understand that musicians are free to form there own opinions and suppost whomever they want, do you really think they care if their fans don't like who they support? They have a voice and choose to use it plus they reach a larger number of people it is like saying I am going to disown a good friend b/c of who they voted for.....LAME

It's critical artists, muscians and actors take a personal and vocal stand with US Politics. I feel there is a general absence from "hollyweird" and the US professional sports leagues (NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, Nascar). I'm thankful there are compassionate and active entertainers in the music industry (noticeable in the Jam category). Dave and Tim could be fun...

On the positive... Obama has a rare quality that many Republican leaders fear! When in the last 15 years have you heard or scene GOP & Evangelical Leaders fear any democrat? Please don't allow the corporate driven news media convince you this is a close contest, their ad contracts and careers literally depend on drawing this Presidential race out. Yet, we can still make a positive change.

ok true gmoo, however when you invest a lot of millions of dollars into forien countries than it becomes a problem because you are hiding it from something, taxes? maybe, also they know that our enconmy is bad and it will continue to be bad untill the war stops. FYI Bill clinton charges 200,00 to 500,00 thousands doallars for giving a speech. WTF can he say that is worth that much? its tough talking politics i know but when someone has account over seas it raises questions. Dave does not suck and Tim is rad.

you're way off. i respect daves/tims right to endorse whomever they like; i just don't give a shit who it is. if they didn't care if their fans supported their candidate, then why the fuck would they do this show? i'm not disowning anyone and while i still like the music, i'm not going to give my money to people who overstate the significance of their own opinions. what's "lame" is when sheep let oprah tell them who to vote for.

if you think obama is any better than hillary, you're only fooling yourself. he attracts so many people who want him to be something that he is not. think obama isn't a corporate hussie too? ha! how do you think he rose to prestige in a matter of months, despite not doing anything significant politically?

do any of you actually look at his voting record? obama voted for the patriot act, constantly votes to fund the war, and is mysteriously "absent" or "present" (aka neutral) on lots of crucial votes.

the sooner everyone realizes that these three candidates are just three different faces of the same puppet, the closer we will be to real change.

Actually you are off, you assume that I endorse Obama b/c Dave does? No...I always vote third party since that is what this country really needs to get the demowhack system back on some kind of positive direction. What I endorse is free shows regardless of what they are for. I mean go look on ebay this event is gonna pay the rent for some peeps this month do you really think it is about the politics? How many voters is he gonna sway by playing a free show if the sheep theory you have is true (all people who attend Dave concerts will vote for Obama) I think people will sit through bullshit rants to watch some excellent musicians...and I doubt he even says anything at the Philly show and if he does who cares your there for the music and you had to pay for it unlike all the lucky folks in Indiana. I don;t understand why Americans get so worked up over political endorsements especially the white folks, you ask them who they vote for and they get super uncomfortable. If you cannot like someone or something b/c of difference in opinion....partisan politics forever!

durango-wrong again. i care even less about who/what you support/vote for than who dave supports. i agree, free shows are cool, even if they become less cool over pretendascalpers on ebay (which i'm not real clear about your point on).

yes i do think this show is about politics as is evident by "... to raise awareness of Barack Obama's presidential campaign". seems pretty straightforward.

you obviously misunderstood what i was saying about people being like sheep, although i find it odd you took it so personally. i, unlike many, don't need to know who anyone else supports. in fact, unlike you, i'ld prefer not to know and find it a bit pretentious when people offer their unsolicited political opinions. being celebrities only makes them a bit more arrogant than people like you in assuming that others want to know. if we want to know, we'll ask.

as for dmb fans, don't you think that demographic will largely support the dnc, more than likely, sen. obama? he's basically preaching to the choir. sadly, most obama supporters care little about substanative issues, and the people dave and tim could persuade have long ago drunk the kool-aid. i agree people will deal with soapboxes to listen to good music, but i've seen these fellas and the crowes plenty and i could just as easily sell my tickets, which is what i'll do. then i'll take that money and see someone who knows i'm about their tunes and doesn't have an ego big enough to think i care who they want me to vote for.

i've never known americans to care much about endorsements, although media coverage may suggest some seemingly false perpetuations. race has absolutely nothing to do with it, and i must say that's the dumbest implication of all the dumb shit you've said on here. let's just say my experiences with white people, and just people in general have been completely different than yours.

just for the record: you've never asked me who i'm intending to vote for, i've never told you, and you still assume. dave matthews could write in gengis kahn and i would still like his music and think he's an overall good guy, though politically we would disagree. my point is simply that i'm gonna exercise my lone quiet little voice to support a musician who knows i don't care about his/her politics.

thanks for the concession, sort of. if mccain is a war-mongering authoritarian, then what was hitler? if obama/hillary are war-mongering socialists then what was stalin?

It is irresponsible of the artist to use their influence/soapbox on dumb witted drugged out impressionable youngsters - like DMB, and Phil fans. Voting based on what your favorite rock star likes is the same as asking a plumber how to remove a tumor. Hears to hoping that the next four years are real quick and then maybe Jeb will run and we will be able to restore some order to America (not sarcastic). shmo-kinn, that's exactly what you sound like. Don't you remember DMB live in Central Park. Free show. Hello! And who really cares which person anybody wants for presidency. Thats the great thing about America, we all have our own opinion. Sorry Dave just has the capability of being able to reach more people with his views, and your opinion carries a lot less weight when compared. But it's cool. People can hate all day on who wants who for president. And to be honest I'd rather Dave put on one show where he talks about politics, rather than taking time out of every show like Pearl Jam. But I'm still gonna watch PJ whenever they come to town, whether or not I agree with what is being said. Go enjoy the music, and just appreciate the fact that Dave is giving people an opportunity to see Dave and Tim. Don't take it for granted.

I think anyone supporting John McCain on this website is just upset because they don't have any artists they like supporting their candidate. The only free shows they could get would be Travis Tritt or some shit like that... OK just kidding for the most part about that.

On a more seriously note, I think Jambase did a good job of actually starting a real discussion on this forum for once. It may have been just a by product of something music related but still, while this conversation has it's fair share of bashing on others beliefs at least there seem to be some well thought out and formulated arguments coming from people.

I personally am behind Obama all the way. After meeting him in '04 briefly I knew that he was someone who could bring the country together. Who cares what he has done, it's what he could potentially do. Hillary or McCain will both drive this country to further extremes because of their public perception. Hillary isn't going to be able to bring republicans to work with dems on issues and McCain is to obsessed with the war to bring any dems over to work with him. For some reason there is something about Obama that people like and can get behind and if this country is going to get its shit together congress has to work together more rather than fighting over the same old bullshit and I think Barack has a better chance of making that happen then the alternatives. My two cents.

Smittea, i agree that hillary is horrible.

However... Obama would be worse for the country, because there would be no checking him. People wouldnt be openly against him, therefore he would be able to quickly and easily run this country into socialism, and make it look good.

At least people will vote against hillary or mccain's agendas if either of them are elected
