Gov't Mule at Jazz Fest

Gov't Mule
On Friday May 2 and Saturday May 3, Gov't Mule return to New Orleans for the tenth straight year during the second weekend of Jazz Fest for two special shows at the Contemporary Arts Center as part of the "Superfly During Jazzfest" Concert Series.

New Orleans holds a special place in the band's heart and has been the site of many extraordinary and historic shows, including The Deepest End. The band has a few tricks up its sleeve to celebrate the fifth anniversary of that show and its first two-night run in town since Hurricane Katrina. Further info will be announced shortly.

Tickets are on sale now through Mule Ticketing and will go on sale through Superfly Ticketing on Saturday 3/22 at noon EDT.

Delaneyira, I'm in MA too. Panic just never gets big numbers here. I was at the show at Agganis and it was less than half full. As for Mule, they did do well when they played with Grace Potter at the Pavillion last summer, so I have a couple theories on why they're not here this summer. 1) with Avalon closed, there really isn't the right sized venue for Mule until the new HOB opens. Unless they play the Pavillion again. And for that to happen, they need a strong supporting act. Maybe they just couldn't make it work on the schedule. Or maybe the Pavillion's bill was full during the time Mule is on tour.

2) Since Mountain Jam is Mule's festival, they've got a financial stake in it. So with no MA show, maybe they're hoping to get more of us to MJ. It wouldn't surprise me if this was the case. And fair enough. Mountain Jam is absolutely worth it!

But overall, we can't complain. We get a ton of great shows.

This will be a separate show (separate tix) from the actual Jazz Fest, which takes place at the State Fair Grounds during the daytime/early evening.

well folks in Arizona will be treated to the Mule at the McDowell Mountain Music Festival in Scottsdale April 25th! MMMF is the best fest in the southwest. Me personally, ive not yet seen the Mule live (besides dvd spots) but Mighty High has been stuck in my cd player for nearly a month straight and i cant wait for the show! Funny thing, i showed my girlfriend a picture of Gov't Mule and she was like "their all whiteboys!?! where's the kinfolk? I coulda sworn there was a atleast one blackman in the band!" they def got soul!

Jazz Fest in N'awlins is STILL THE BEST OF THE BEST in terms of the FEST! Support New Orleans! Unlike the caamping festies of the summer, Jazz Fest does all the "professional" concert goers the favor of weeding out the rookies. I've also never seen someone just decide to go to their first Jazz Fest by themselves, they are always "chaperoned" by a vetran looking to bring some new talet into the pool. I should know, cause I've indoctrinated my fair shares of n00bs, and their reaction to still drinking and dancing at Tipitina's at 5am is always PRICELESS. When you've finally made it to Jazz Fest...Congradulations because someone loves you enough to share this experience with you, and now you will search out your truly "special" friends to share it with them. See ya there during the 2nd weekend!!!!!!!!
