This is a well deserved break for a band that has been on tour for 19 years without a solid break and has pumped out two albums in the last year. It won't be a long break, my guess is they'll be back in time for a multi-night run in ATL next Spring or Summercamp. moe. rox.

The multitudes of rock bands that populate the radio-airwaves certainly DON'T tour constantly. Most bands DON'T tour non-stop. This is only a story because some folks expect moe. to never stop touring. So they want some time... There's no reason to think they will have"lost it" after they come back. I'd bet they'll be refreshed and ready to jam some more. Wasn't it just last year they did a tour with the Allman Brothers... they aren't gonna quit when they can get gigs like that.

this will not have any impact on my music scene what so ever. I never go see moe. when they're around. I'd rather listen to them on CD then see them live. Just my own preference..not my thing.

moe. is one of the best jam bands in the scene right now. They are road warriors and put on awesome festivals. They are conscious and socially involved by raising funds for Katrina, autism, and various other worthwhile organizations including headcount. moe.down 9 is going to be divine! Okayalright.

They will likely return to rage RAdio City is my bet. Definitely appreciate all the time and effort Moe put into their touring. They are relentless on the road and always give it their all. Best of luck to them.

Can you smell a breakup??, I meant Phish took a break, and then look what happened, String Cheese also took a small break (NYE 05- Red Rock 06) and broke up, moe's done dude!!!!!

I'm sick of attending summer festivals to send off my favorite bands. Last year I had to bid farewell to the Cheese at Big Summer Classic. This year, moe at Summer Camp? This sucks.

They will be back. They are just at a point where they don't need to play 120 shows a year any more. Hiatus won't be that long, if they are back for NYE thats only 4 months...

this news has been going around for 2-3 weeks now, way to be on the ball jambase. I think moe. definitely deserves a break. SCIFreak, I find it hard to think that this might be the begining of the end for moe. they definitely still have everything together. I will miss them while they're gone, though im sure it will be a short hiatus.

At least they announced when they are going to return, unlike 2 very popular jam bands...

they will be back for sure. they will come back and be better than ever. just in case im seeing them every chance i get. ive seen them 2 times this spring and plan to see them 4 more. so make sure you get your moe. fix before the summer is over.

Good for them. It's always good to take a break. They probably listened to their recent album and realized that they needed a break.

So they are planning on returning sometime in 2009 after touring up through July. I don't think that's newsworthy or should be considered a "break".

does everybody feel better about themselves for bashing bands on here? So what if moe isnt your favorite band, they are still a band who is very popular among this scene, and in my opinion, can tear it up pretty good. I didnt loose sleep when widespread went on a hiatus or sci, but i dint get on here and use a hiatus as a reason to tell everyone im not a fan. If you dont like moe, or any band for that matter, cool, keep it to yourself! Don't hate, c'mon, arent we all about peace and happyness.

Hippies getting offended that their favorite bands want to take a little time off work; can anyone say irony? I always find it funny how we feel that our favorite bands are somehow obligated to us to perform. Dance monkey! Dance!

to all the haters - i think you might wanna go check out moe. again. just went on the 4 night run with them (PA,PA,NY,MA) and they are fuckin exploding. didnt even take drugs (well some of the nights). and by the way they dont play timmy tucker or moth every show, thats probably just the two songs ya know. peace and love cant wait to see the summer tour

I saw them twice, it bored me.

However, I know, I just was not lucky, they can play with real intensity at times, I just have not been around when they do. All my friends like them quite alot, I just HATE To spend 25 bucks and then be dis-appointed :(

I like moe a lot but Rob has got to give it up, he is no longer in it for the music. The last time i saw him he was leaning up against his amplifier looking like he can't wait to punch out at the end of the night.

He is a great player but lazy lately.

moe. needs a break after "sticks and stones" dissapointed in this album.. great band, just seem to be losing it. A break will do em' well.

HATE HATE HATE HATE. I actually enjoy people posting about bands they dislike. It promotes healthy discourse. If every single person on JamBase loved every single band of the "jam" ilk, I'm pretty sure I'd stop reading jambase message boards.

I've enjoyed every moe. show that I've been to. This year, though, they're really been on fire!! While I hate to see them take a break, they certainly deserve to spend some time with their families. They'll be back!!

i admit too that at first S&S wasn't the best sounding album...but after a few listens i started to like it. also they raggge some of those songs at their shows....100% better than on the cd
