Without any set expectation, Rebus presented a show to please any musical ear. This four piece band with varied vocal moments and DJ intervention, has an uplifting sound that's sure to groove any crowd.
The Cary St. Cafe, a local Richmond hippie spot, was the destination of this satisfying show. After a $5 cover, was a night full of good vibes and
fresh beats.
Before Rebus took stage, a local DJ was spinning away, setting the upbeat
mood for the band to follow. One by one, Rebus took the stage adding to the
DJ mix until the DJ eventually faded out. The transition was impressive-from
DJ to band-and some may have even missed it if they weren't paying close
attention.
Throughout the evening, Rebus presented an MMW type of sound full of smooth flowing tempo and dynamic transitions. This group has an amazing talent together as a UNIT, and the connection between them all is impressive to observe. The jams were well developed and creative, especially on keyboard. Rebus has a positive vibe;giving off the feel they love to play. This love, giving Rebus a special connection with the audience.
