FREE Arcade Fire Shows in Ohio

ARCADE FIRE MEMBERS TO PLAY FREE SHOWS IN OHIO

Arcade Fire
Win Butler, Will Butler, Regine Chassagne and Jeremy Gara of the Arcade Fire will be playing a free concert on Sunday, March 2 at Stuart's Stuart's Opera House in Nelsonville, Ohio in support of Barack Obama's bid for the Democratic nomination. The show is at 7 p.m., first come first serve.

They will also be playing a free show at the Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland on Monday, March 3. Doors are at 7 p.m., and the show is 18 and over, first come first serve.

Though the Arcade Fire is known as a Canadian band, Win and Will were born and raised in the U.S. (and spent their formative years in Texas), Regine is a dual citizen whose dad served in Vietnam, and Jeremy Gara is just a really nice Canadian who likes playing music and is sick of explaining to Americans what universal health care means.

I have seen arcade Fire at Red Rocks with LCD Soundsystem opening and LCD were AWESOME! but Arcade Fire were loud and perpetually insufficient to the type of sound I enjoy. They are loud, they bang on their instruments, they are not my type of tunes. If you go to these free shows, have a good time! All music deserves a listen... Even if it is loud and lacking guitar soloing and jazzy/funky grooves and cool choruses and awesome vocal chords...

FREE SHOW......Respect to any band that is willing to play free music to raise political awareness even if it lacks "jazzy/funky grooves". The Red Rocks show was awesome from start to finish.

Yeah, trying to affect people by raising consciousness through the power of music just isn't my thing. That Bob Marley sure was a nut.

I gotta admit, I do find it odd when people/bands from other countries get involved in our political process. I mean, we as americans would never go to another country and try to tell them what's best for them politically or socially... oh, wait... nevermind.

Well get used to it acomma Ohio is a key state in the election just like last time when you chose to put the retard back in office and judging from your osama comment you'd probably be happy to do it again much of it is bullshit but don't sound like an idiot if Osama is writing a check for anyone it would have to be our current President he's done exactly what terrorism was meant to do, get the word about it out to more people and enable recruitment around the world

larry, you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. You assume I voted for Bush, which is false. I realize the candidate who has won Ohio has ended up winning the election the past 60 or some odd years. Don't be such a negative nelly!!

If you didn't read the thread on where they are from, Win and Will were born and raised in the US, hence they are American citizens and a dual citizenship is close to the same thing. Regine's father fought for the US in that bullshit conflict in Vietnam and Jeremy, our friend from the north are astounishing musicians. Who cares what they have to say chillyh2o? Most of the music population, including Widespread Panic. Get your head out of your ass.

damnit, i need to start walking!

i personally think arcade fire are AMAZING.

perhps its because they play songs with actual meaning,

as opposed to songs about, say, love tractors, or coconuts...

AF is not a jamband, but they have better songwriting and lyrics that are very deep and sung with such enthusiasim to provoke emotions other than "dance party." (nothing wrong with a dance party, but you can't say they suck cause they don't play trancefusion)
