Front-row center for this spectacular show. The vibe was very pleasant and the jams were rather tight. Page looked great up there. I bought a flight to Jazz Fest after this show. Great night! Oh, and Jim Pollock's lithograph from the show was pretty sweet, too!

p.s.-Is it me or does Colonel Forbin (poster) need to write something with a little substance?

Is there a tape or even a setlist of this anywhere? This looks ridiculous.

i was at the show in denver at cervante's, and i can assure you no one was bored.. hands down one of the best live music experiences i've ever had. the funk was deep and dirty, the sold out crowd was pumpin', and the setlist was to die for. highlights included 'light up or leave me alone,' a dub reggae 'ain't no sunshine,' band of gypsys' 'they don't know,' and an out of sight medley of 'lovelight> not fade away> hey pocky way> aiko aiko.' i would give my right leg for a tape of the denver show..

Page is always chill on stage . . . these pics reflect that and I think they're awesome! Why is everyone concerned with how Page looks anyway? People age, that's what we do.

I'm sorry, but ira7420 is way off base. Papa Mali is not only an amazing guitarist, but an awesome vocalist. If you want that dirty swamp sound that comes from the heart of the south, Malcolm is great - just check out Thunder Chicken - or even better, catch him at the Gospel Sun. Brunch at SxSW. Not to mention his great guitar playing and his super dooper producer role for some pretty big names. I only attended the Denver show, but I thought it was the best show I have seen in a long, long time here in Denver. Great music, great vibe, great people, great production, great cause - just off the hook. There is noooo way that I would have been anywhere else on this night.

I met Page after this show on Peal Street. Really nice guy, hung out for a few minutes than rolled on down the Street. Said he really enjoyed playing with these guys.

Oh by the way he looked fine.

Thank you all for your support and opinions. We were bleesed to have such a great line-up come together for this cause. Everyone was so happy and energized during the shows and ready for a party after. Page was very happy to be there and had nothing but great things to say about the shows and your energy. Working with these musicians was one of my most fullfilling moments of my life! SMP is working with our film crew to produce a DVD of the two nights, as soon as we get the go ahead we will release them on the artists respective websites. We were able to send well over $15,000 to the foundations, with more to come after the live artist sell their artwork. This whole thing was only possible b/c of you the fans and friends.

they played a 3 hr non-stop set at Cervantes and considering that they had only played once before... I thought they KILLED IT!! SMP is working on a few shows at JazzFest that will help the Childrens Hospital with their terminal disease research and treatment center... soooo if you'll be there please come out and support another get cause.

to futher your support of the BIG EASY you can go to www.frenchylive.com or www.johnbukaty.com to acquire artwork from the weekend. also you can make donations to www.tipitinasfoundation.com or www.neworleansmusiciansclinic.org. THANK YOU ALL FOR COMING OUT!!

ira7420 i am sorry that you missed one of the most beautiful and giving experiences. I'm sure that STS9 late night was great but to say that it shit on this is way over the top. You were not there to pass that judgement! This line-up is a once in a life time chance and was the funkiest thing i have been a part of. Papa is one of the nicest and giving person i have met and would not have taken him of my line-up for anyone. He holds New Orleans in his voice and on his fingers. Plus Page hadn't played a lot of the songs that Mardi Gras holds as theme songs. so it was up to Russell and Papa to bring the funk to your ears. And they did a hell of a job. Sorry you missed this.

I really doubt STS9 late-night shit on this; their shows (been to 10 or so) are pretty much all the same.

BTW...Papa Mali has an amazing voice.

I left the STS9 show a little early on Saturday and hauled ass over to Cervantes, which was an excellent dsecison! This jam collaboration brought the heat to Clorado... I haven't seen Page throwdown the phunkyness that hard since my Phishin' days! He was definetly busting out the Page bobble head to full effect. The encore at Cervantes was: Lovelight, Not Fade Away, Hey Pockey Way, Iko Iko ; Encore 2: The Chicken

Overall it was a super phunky night, some other highlights of the show were: Light up or Leave me Alone and Cissy Strut! I wish these musicians would get together again and do a mini tour.

I was at both nights and though the Denver show was far superior. Cervantes is one of my favorite venues, especially compared to the Fillmore, which I too had left early because of boredom and E-Tards. I thought the "Like a Rolling Stone" was the highlight, with the "Light up or Leave me Alone" also beig stellar.

you all are spoiled in you live in CO or CA. You get to see groups we NEVER see in south east usa. It seems our only SUPERJAMS like this are held only in new orleans, or occassionally in asheville NC. I saw PM with galactic once and he did not bother me at all, I liked his singing and guitar playing, but its certainly not STELLAR..

This show was AMAZING! By the way, the pic of Russell playing the bottle of whiskey was just moments before he passed it down to the audience to pass around and share. Thought that was VERY New Orleans style........Again, great show that was not to be missed. Sweet Pollock print for the shows as well!
