New Centro-matic Album

Will Johnson, one of America's unsung singer-songwriters, has brought his two main projects, Centro-matic and South San Gabriel together under one umbrella for the first time.

"We been toilin and schemin' in our little world over the last little while, and I think it's gonna be a fun one this year," says Johnson. "I'm proud to announce that this spring we will celebrate the release of our first double album, Dual Hawks. It will not only be a double, but a split double that includes a Centro-matic side and a South San Gabriel side. It will come to you courtesy of Misra here in the US, and Cooking Vinyl and Houston Party Records in Europe. We are keeping costs as low as possible at many turns to ensure that it comes to you at a very fan-friendly price. There will also be a limited edition release of Dual Hawks with special packaging available. We're fine-tuning all these things at the moment and will keep that info coming as release time nears. Healthy amounts of touring for both the US and Europe will follow."

"Centro-matic's music comes on like a sound from a distant dream, something new, yet unmistakably familiar. Clear images adding up to something a little vague, but in such a comforting way," wrote Patterson Hood of the Drive-By Truckers about Centro-matic's last studio album, the extraordinary Fort Recovery. "Their music is somehow like something I heard in my head as a child, yet I know I didn't. I find myself singing along with their songs the first time I hear them. They're the best live band in America and know how to make great records. Bunches of them (they're prolific as hell) yet some how they keep getting better. All of this while playing an exhausting 150 shows a year."

Hey mysadstory, jambase didn't "write" this "article" on Will Johnson, a tour publicity agency "wrote" this Press Release. Anything written by jambase writers will have the word "by" followed with an authors name. In journalism terms, that's called a by-line.

I don't know Will Johsonson's music, nor Centro-matic, but I will follow this post by looking for streams, and deciding whether I like it or not. Might I suggest you do the same, as you may indeed dig it.
