New Band For Phil Anselmo/Hank III

Arson Anthem
"Starved on stale vodka and even staler non-filters, basking in the telepathic glow of vicious, filthy '80's style hardcore punk and hardcore." That's how Arson Anthem describes themselves. This new project from celebrated metal man Philip Anselmo features vocalist Mike D. Williams (EyeHateGod, Outlaw Order), Hank Williams III on drums (Assjack, Superjoint Ritual and yes, son of Hank Williams Jr.) and bassist Collin Yeo.

The New Orleans-based band's self-titled debut EP drops on February 19 on Anselmo's label, Housecore Records. Their MySpace page goes on to say, "Our mission is the re-introduction to the roots of painful amplification, raw production, and a TRUE "Fuck All" attitude to a movement within the new generation that's lost the meaning of less complicated ventures such as the original brutality of bands like Negative Approach, Poison Idea, Hellhammer, Discharge, Void et al… This is a beautiful thing. Never giving way to what the societal masses want us to conform to, as by example our previous musical incarnations. We got the grudge. We keep the grudge against all of you."

Dont be scared of something heavy people. Music is an expression of life. Life is not all peace love and roses. And thats commin from an old school dead head. Phil can be a bit over the top, its true. Hank III is the shit!

Hey, Phil is the shit(and i guarentee if you were face to face with him you would be scared shitless to say anything). You can hate pantera if you want, but Dimebag was an amazing guitar player. As far is this new band goes, I'm interested to hear it. DOWN's first album was classic, the second album was ok, however I didn't think that much about Superjoint Ritual. I'd also rather hear about this metal band instead of any "Indie-rock Darlings"(this counts for almost everyone at Coachella or PitchFork).

Pantera was a great band and there are plenty of talented metal bands. However, I don't come to jambase to learn about the latest in metal news. I come here for news about jambands and indie bands. In any case, this site has provided hours of free entertainment, so who am I to complain.

fuck yeah hank III is the real deal - saw him just a couple weeks ago and although i wasn't crazy about ass jack ( it was pretty cool though ) the first half of the show was just incredible - the stand up bass was on FIRE

so you can say whatever you want but they fuckin rocked - no ifs, ands, butts

as far as the rest of the comments-

cocheese- wow didn't know that jessico was common knowledge - that dude is fucked up - like really fucked up - gimmee a twenty n i'll rock your party!

and blake lewis - never heard of him - don't give a flying sideways duck if jambase advertises for him or not - i don't buy anything because of aadvertising and if this site is all boy bands tomorrow i will simply look for another music site ....? delanyira - why don't you focus your energy on making your own music site then post its address all over this site and we can all check out your ideas - no really - and hey if you need someone to do reviews / take pics i am always down w/ seein a free show!
