Dax Riggs 2008 Tour

We Sing of Only Blood or Love out now on Fat Possum

Dax Riggs
"Louisiana banshee turns gloomy outlook into gutter-rock gold" -SPIN

"Talented, individual, and somewhat freaky..." -PITCHFORK

After a successful fall tour with Queens of the Stone Age and appearances at the Austin City Limits festival and Lollapalooza, Dax Riggs will return to the road with select U.S. dates throughout the month of February, starting at the intimate Frankies Inner City club in Toledo, Ohio.

After the demise of his former band, the critically acclaimed deadboy and the Elephantmen, Dax ventured forth by releasing his solo debut last summer, We Sing of Only Blood or Love (Fat Possum). Praise quickly followed, with accolades from publications including the New York Times, Esquire, Interview, the Los Angeles Times, a prominent 'Breaking Out' feature in Spin magazine, and Top 10 of 2007 rankings from Decibel and the Chicago Daily Herald. Catch Dax on the road and see it all for yourself before he heads back into the studio.

Drummer Andy McLeod will join Dax once again, with other touring members to be announced shortly.

I decided to check out Dax Riggs when I saw he was touring with Queens of the Stone Age and was knocked out after hearing Radiation Blues on his myspace page. I bought his disc the next day and grooved to it everyday for at least a month-what a fresh talent. The lyrcs are a l'il weird but the delivery is so dead on I don't care what he sings about. This is one of my picks for best album of 2007 due in large part that it is original but still has an accessible sound-gothic alt countryish with big muff fuzz guitar tones= killer debut.
