i really like this band, but what i really like about them is the stripped down, two person, almost mono sound that they have... danger mouse is an incredible talent, but i really hope that he doesn't overtake the sound of the band, being that he is somewhat of a superstar... change is a good thing, but im nervous that its gonna take a sort of 180 towards a highly produced glossy sound, but maybe not... stoked on the 930 club show

What Danger Mouse did for The Good, The Bad and The Queen was soooooo far from glossy or highly produced. The guy really is an incredible talent - he seems to adapt to his environment in a huge way, not the other way around.

right on man, i'll have to look into that album, never heard of it... i guess i'm just more familiar with his more mainstream and hip hop work. i just hope they keep that trademark sound

Wow this should be interesting with more people playing with the Keys. Pretty excited and nervous at the same time with this news. I like the Keys' first couple of albums but not Magic Potion so much. Starting to go more towards rock I think. But another hometown show Im going to miss. Still havent seen them yet.

Seriously - everyone who isn't already familiar should check out The Good, The Bad and The Queen. The group is comprised of Damon Albarn (Blur), Tony Allen (Fela Kuti), Paul Simonon (The Clash), and Simon Tong (The Verve). Like I said a couple comments up, the relevance here is that Danger Mouse was the man who produced the album and did a spectacular job - very moody, dubby, and weird.

i cant wait 4 months for this album. there is no way they will take a 180, it is impossible because they are a duo. the album will probably have a nice flow and a bunch of boombastic layers that will keep it fresh upon every listen.
