Roosevelt Collier & David Shelley Guest With Gov’t Mule

Mule’s first set in Miami was heavy on The Beatles as the band covered “She Said, She Said;” “Tomorrow Never Knows” and “Yer Blues” in the opening stanza. The second set saw the quartet work Tom Petty’s “Breakdown” into “Beautifully Broken” and “Eternity’s Breath” and a “St. Stephen Jam” within “Trane.” For the encore, Gov’t Mule welcomed local favorite Roosevelt Collier on lap steel for “Soulshine.” Collier stuck around and the group was also joined by guitarist David Shelley for a cover of “The Thrill Is Gone.” Next up for Gov’t Mule is a performance in St. Petersburg tonight.
