Grateful Dead New Year's 1980-1981 Documentary

Once again the Music Vault YouTube channel is paying dividends as the team behind The Concert Vault has posted a 52-minute documentary about the Grateful Dead's New Year's Eve performance from 1980 that's available for streaming.

On December 31, 1980 the Grateful Dead played a three-set show to ring in 1981 at the Oakland Auditorium in Oakland, CA. For the first set, the Dead treated attendees to a rare acoustic set just months after their successful Radio City and Warfield runs, which incorporated electric and acoustic performances. The film mixes concert footage with behind-the-scenes shots and vignettes featuring the fans of the band. Impresario Bill Graham can be seen counting down the seconds until 1981 at one point. Check it out:

Tracklist: Looks Like Rain, China/Rider, Monkey & The Engineer, Jack-A-Roe, Ripple, Alabama Getaway, Bill Graham New Year's Celebration, Sugar Magnolia, Around & Around, Sunshine Daydream
