Just about four months before The Band retired from the road with the unforgettable Last Waltz concert in San Francisco, the group played The Casino Arena in Asbury Park, NJ on July 20, 1976. Recently, black-and-white professionally-shot footage of The Band’s performance from Asbury Park popped up on YouTube.

The 18-song setlist from the show reads like a list of The Band’s greatest hits as they work through some of the most-beloved tunes in rock history such as “Up On Cripple Creek,” “The Shape I’m In,” “The Weight,” “Ophelia” and “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down.” We’re also particularly fond of keyboardist Garth Hudson’s outrageous “Genetic Method” intro for “Chest Fever.” So block out about 80 minutes of your day and watch this classic Band performance.
