Cover Alert | Phil Lesh & Friends Tackle Allmans Mountain Jam

As we reported, last night Phil Lesh and Friends started to cover the Allman Brothers Band’s legendary Eat A Peach album at the Tower Theater in Philadelphia. There was one song in particular we were interested to hear, “Mountain Jam,” and thanks to taper edtyre a recording of the 19+ minute take on the instrumental has surfaced.

We’re very impressed with the ensemble’s take on the tune as we hear Luther Dickinson duel with Anders Osborne and a stellar organ solo from Jason Crosby. There’s even a Phil bass solo or more accurately a duet with drummer Tony Leone. The whole band comes together after the duet for a reprise of the theme. All in all, an outstanding “Mountain Jam,” but don’t take our word for it:
