As Friday had came and to the Wu we went
No one was sure how our time would be spent.
There was music and people and fun to be had,
and fans of all types who were so very glad.
Music and emotion, a glorifying feel,
with people dancing and movement surreal.
Weather, seemed dreadful, but having no fear,
the clouds began moving and the sky became clear...
Blessed on this day from spiritual mist,
the Family Reunion was music lover’s bliss.
Strange Pleasures, the locals from close to my town,
played a few times on Friday, and Gotta Jibboo to get down.
Sweet Potato projected from the first show of Main Stage.
Dancing beginning, folks let loose from their cage.
Next on the list, the Jones ganged up for the show,
if you heard them and listened, you’d be in the know.
Dean McGraw was the man on this Fantastic Friday,
and these words put simply cannot explain the display.
Dean-o and Friends, whom blew up the crowd,
played songs of Redemption, made Bob very proud.
And to follow McGraw and his funky guitar,
Dred I Dread combusted from the rocking Parlor.
With Reggae tunes that made hundreds get down,
ending my evening with Jah-infused sound.
So concludes the beginning of Wuville.
I came for it, saw it and then it was spilled.
In morning we woke, and on came King Freud,
a display from Borealis so smoothly deployed.
The Recipe cooked and caressed our soul
and so another adventure began to unfold.
The dessert was Cornmeal, three servings we got,
each one was tasty, whether you like it or not.
Easy and pleasing the gents of McGee,
secret society belongs to Umphrey.
And then there were Nine, Sound Tribe Sectors between.
At this point, yours truly will have to come clean.
This was the moment so awaited in dreams,
outstanding controlled confidence it seems,
reborn at that moment, mine satisfaction redeems.
Homunculus, pronounced, sounds like a cloud.
Horray! for wee hours proclaimed the crowd.
Patchouli, no fooling, did us all a duty,
the rooster reminder for us to shake booty.
Larry, our friend, deep down in Texas,
gave no opportunity to relieve or rest us.
From Fargo, well-represented fan base,
along came Greenhouse and lit up the place.
We searched and searched and went Yonder and found
a string band from the mountains with a beautiful sound.
All Mighty Senators, yes it's Kulayd, my man,
always prepared with a booty shakin’ plan.
It’s Ancient, Harmony that comes from beyond,
a ripple continued on our proverbial pond.
To The Big Wu, we thank you, you’ve made our lives great.
For the next Family Reunion, I’ll just have to wait.
Jason, Terry, Al on keys, Chris and Andy,
We are down on our knees.
You’ve blessed us and gave us a ship to sail,
though sometimes we all go through those rough seas.
We Love Wu!
