Stanley Jordan Sits-In With Dave Matthews Band and Umphrey's McGee

STANLEY JORDAN SITS-IN WITH DAVE MATTHEWS BAND
AND THEN UMPHREY'S MCGEE

It was a busy weekend for guitarist Stanley Jordan in the Midwest. On July 5 and 6, Jordan joined Dave Matthews Band at Wisconsin's Alpine Valley Music Theatre, first on DMB originals "Snow Outside..." and "Fool To Think" and the following day for a duo jam with guitarist Tim Reynolds that lead into "Grace is Gone."

On Sunday, Jordan moved on to Peoria, IL, to join Umphrey's McGee at the CEFCU Center Stage at The Landing. Jordan, who has joined UM multiple times in the past, joined the sextet for "Great American" and "Much Obliged" as well as covers of David Bowie's "Fame" and Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Lenny."

There is plenty of video of the DMB collaborations already circulating on YouTube but none yet from the UM show in Peoria. While we await new footage, have a look at some classic video of Jordan with UM in past years, including an incredible clip of the band going over their original "40's Theme" from a soundcheck at the 2008 New Year's Eve run, followed by the performance itself.
