excellent news! i am waiting to see how Thomas Pridgen fits with these guys. NYE in San Fran will be the best proving grounds! 55 bucks for a NYE with TMV should be well worth it! i doubt they will tour with Tool though. this band is definite headline status and Tool is one of the hardest bands to share a bill, mainly because the audience only wants Tool. I predict TMV will now offer lesser known bands a chance to open their shows. the first time i saw them was opening for a perfect circle and i really miss that feeling of being floored by an opener prior to the headline. next time i saw them they were playing the same venue by themselves. Dodge Theater in PHX holds some people and i was impressed that they filled it on their own. The Mars Volta is just beginning!

I would rather see these guys by themselves. the last few tours has been them opening for red hot chili peppers and system of a down. They need to get some one to open for them or just themselves.

Anyways.... this looks sick so far, pridgen fits in I think. cant wait.

Okay, I first listened to the 'wax simulacra' video and the song was alright. I love Omar and Mars Volta so I was a little disappointed, so I went searching further based on other peoples comments. Search on google for "Goliath of Bedlam leaks" on google and you can find a leak for them. DO IT.

The other two songs (Abernikula and Goliath) are fucking sick. I was initially disappointed in the comments when someone said that Goliath was a reworking of a track off of Omar's new solo album. The track on Se Dice, No Bufalo sucks really badly...but the reworking made it tighter, faster and alot sicker.

Jesus Christ TMV rocks and I'm really happy that the new drummer has picked up right where John T. left off.

I for one hope the touring with Tool rumors are false. I want to see the Mars Volta play their own headlining show. Nothing against Tool, I've seen them 4 or 5 times and they always put on an incredible show, but do have any idea how hard it is to get decent tickets to a show that Tool is playing? I'll give you a clue, its next to impossible. For those of us who have had their fill of Tool and want to see the Mars Volta, we're fucked. We'll be standing in line with the 15-16 year olds who call them selves the Tool Army, waiting for tickets we'll never get. Doesnt sound that "sick" to me.

The Tool rumor was for a South American tour with Tool and TMV later this fall, but that fell through as since Tool announced their tour this fall. The only show that TMV is doing now is the New Years show.

What kind of music were you listening to at 15 and 16, Rondog?

Okay first off guys, we don't know for sure if Rapid Fire Tollbooth is the new song Goliath. It may be included in the song but we don't know for sure. Considering the 29 secs of Goliath is not included in the new leaked rapid fire tollbooth, I am assuming that rapid fire is a totally different track or included in a different song. So those of you who downloaded the leaked songs, you may want to change the title from goliath to rapid fire tollbooth...at least for now.
