Norah Jones by Danny Clinch
Live From Abbey Road, a new Sundance Channel, premieres tonight (June 21) with intimate performances from Norah Jones, John Mayer and Richard Ashcroft (Verve) at "the world's most famous recording studio." The series is a cozier, more upscale take on the types of concerts pioneered on Austin City Limits, engineered with a care befitting the Beatles old stomping grounds and taped without a studio audience.

Upcoming episodes include Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ray LaMontagne, Gipsy Kings, Iron Maiden, Wynton Marsalis, Paul Simon and many more. Each week features a trio of diverse artists.

Norah Jones is a busy gal this summer, with an appearance on Good Morning America’s Summer Concert series (July 6), a two-month European tour and the leading role in celebrated art film director Wong Kar Wai's My Blueberry Nights, which opened this year's Cannes Film Festival. Jones has a handful of U.S. dates before crossing the Atlantic.

Norah Jones is amazing! I don't know how her new album is, but her last 2 were great! Her mom must have been good looking because she can't get her good looks from her dad Ravi Shankar... have you seen him? Makes no sense..

Check out Norah's half sister Anoushka Shankar. She plays the sitar on the Concert for George memorial album.... very good!

ravi shankar is the quintessential musical hindu pimp! i saw a concert of him and daughter anoushka shankar back when she was 14 or so, probably a dozen years ago....they were trading intense licks on the sitar ala "the devil went down to bombay" and the joy pouring out of their fingers was so palpable...her current fusion music creations are definitely worth listening to ~ very creative, awe-inspiring, relaxing and meditative

Nothing says "cozier, more upscale take on the types of concerts pioneered on Austin City Limits" like Iron Maiden! Ha! Can't wait for that intimate show.

this site covers everything now. not saying that is bad, but makes me think even more that the jam scene is dying. very sad, at least there are a few strong jam bands left.
i do like norah jones though, i agree with soulgrass

Show wasn't bad. Norah was great as usual, even though he's banging a pop starlet Mayer can still wail on the dobro and Richard Ashcroft is an immensely talented songwriter.

Don't remember who is on next week but I know I set up the DVR for it.

Still blown away that I didn't know who her father was. I'm gonna go punish myself and study wikipedia better.
