Yonder Mountain String Band is pleased to announce the celebration of their 1000th official show at Simon Estes Amphitheater in Des Moines, IA on Friday, June 15. Many years ago in 1998 no one in the band could have predicted what they had created when they first began playing the Pioneer Inn in Nederland, CO. As Jeff, Ben, Adam and Dave often mention they are honored to be able to play music for a living, to share it with the band and all of the fans. Here's to the next 1000 shows!

I saw these guys at High Sierra the last year it was in Bear Valley. They were invited to play by Vince Herman and they tore it up on the side stage. So cool to have been there for their big breakout and now see them so successful. What a dream it must be to start at the dive Pioneer Inn and now be headling Red Rocks! Keep up the great work guys!

Rufus of course he is gonna let a sit in guest playn the mandolin to tear it up. Almost everyone that lets anyone sit in with them lets them tear it up its just how it is.

kaiserbun - you must have been at la Zona in Austin. Agreed he was wasted and has been hit or miss. I didn't want to bash em in my first comment since the are the reason why I am learning the banjo. As for Jeff He has only been playing the mandolin basically since this band was formed, and I am sure in 5 years from now he will be amazing and very hard to keep up with. in the meantime YMSB F-in rocks! I will be in Des Moines on Friday to witness this show it is going to be amazing, plus the Simon Estes is a sweet venue. Then on Saturday they play the Zoo in Minneapolis which will also be a sick show, I went last year and it was amazing. Im excited that they are playing their 1000th show in Iowa!!

They chose Iowa over WI, and Chi town for there 1000th show. For Obvious reasons. We love you and That show was the best show i've seen at Simon Estes. And I've Seen a lot of shows there. OH And I've noticed at waka you guys are getting into the older stuff. But then you played polka on the banjo! Holy shit. Man i spun so many circles that night. Damn. And you know we fuckin rocked your socks off! much love and nothin but!!! ~Nealy

What kinda moron would say that Jeff Austin hasn't evolved on the mando???? What a joke he has vastly improved, more so that anyone in the band probaly due to the fact that the rest of them had way more experience at their insturment than him when they started but none the less that kid should be smacked like a little bitch for saying that! Anyways congrats to Yonder, hopefully 9 years from now they wil be celebrating 2,000 and all you haters will have moved on and be listening to soft rock by then, morons!

I would just like to pay homage to the wonderful force that is yonder mountain string band. I just saw them last night in Columbus Ohio and it was by far one of the best concerts I have ever experienced. The night was beautiful and so was the vibe. I would just love to congratulate yonder on thier success and thank them for being the amazing musical force that they are. Keep up the great work guys, Columbus loves the hell out of you.
