Hot Buttered Rum
Hot Buttered Rum proudly announces their homecoming show at The Fillmore in San Francisco this Saturday, May 19 entitled, Green Dream.

When asked to recap the spring and comment on the upcoming summer, Aaron Redner (fiddle) states, "The show at The Fillmore is the culmination of a two-month tour that took us all around the United States. I love to think back to the beginning of that run and remember how far away this Fillmore show seemed. We've played around 40 shows since then in some of our favorite markets; Colorado, Texas, The Carolinas, the Northeast. The love we received from those concerts; the heart-felt thanks from folks who live in areas that don't get a lot of music coming through, truly fuels us onwards.

"Now we are coming home to play music in one of the live-music cathedrals which happens to be down the street! Our faithful homebase-fans will be joined by people flying in from all over the country who want to be at this special evening. Plus, they get to see That 1 Guy! He's a great performer. We want to bring awareness to people who are doing positive things for our precious environment. There will be information on what we all can do to help preserve our future presented by Bioneers and Clif Bar. Come dressed in some sort of green!

"After The Fillmore we get on a plane and go to some festivals in the Midwest and Southeast. We'll be in Colorado in July for the Trancegression Festival which sounds like a blast. High Sierra is around the bend where we've had some memorable sets. Harmony Festival is a place we like to play because of the positive networking that inevitably takes place. That is what we love about touring in general, connecting and networking with bright, excited people who are eager to share their visions with us."

The upcoming 2007 festival schedule for Hot Buttered Rum includes:
Hookahville (OH) – Summer Camp (IL) – Blue Plum Festival (TN) – Harmony Festival (CA) – High Sierra (CA) – Trancegression (CO) – Dead On The Creek (CA) – River City Roots Festival (MT) – Mulberry Mountain Harvest Music Festival (AR) - Joshua Tree Roots Festival (CA)

HA ha, Welcome home boys! See you tonight in felton (probly going but still trying to muster the weekday gumption) and def sat at the FILLMORE!

Congrats to HBRSB for thier first headlining gig at the Fillmore - this is always a huge accomplishment for any band. May there be many more!

Cold Margerined Whiskey actually sounds like a somewhat tasty drink....i hate rum with a passion, but a good tennessee burbon, hooooooeeeeee!

Congratulations on your homecoming. Your Knoxville Tn show was one of the best of any band coming through our rich music city last year. Hats off and come back real soon!

naw, son. Butter is a better band than Yonder. The CO music scene really seems to fixate on bands like they do with Yonder and Lotus.

I dont really see how you could call HBRSB over rated when they arent even EXTREEMLY popular to begin with. Hell, you should see the dumpy shithole of a venue they just rocked last night. Im not going to say that Yonder and Lotus are crappy bands (theyre def good), but THEY are the overrated acts becasuse their music is def not as life-changingly good as their throngs of fans would have you believe.

HBRSB is sick, have impecable tone and timing, and build amazing dynamic unique jams. Not only that but theyre all extreemly talented singers as well.

It really seems like the most popular hippie kid in CO decides that he likes a jamband and all his hippie disciples follow suit. I know that CO is a badass state with tons and tons of great kids and a sweet overall scene, but there is also way too much of the situation im describing going on and wanna be sketchballs who think theyre diehard fans but at the end of the day really dont know a whole lot about music and really just think that doing hard drugs is what life's all about and or deserately want to fit in with people who do.

Ok, shit that was way more negative than I aspire to be but I want to get some honest thought-out reactions about the CO music scene. (be sure to keep in mind that overall, i think CO and its people are among the toast of the nation in terms of a sick vibe)

One last important footnote. Yonder recently came to the fillmore in SF. I didnt go but one of my friends did and a sketchball yonder-fan fuck pickpocketed my buddies tickets and went in. Luckily the fillmore was badass enough to sympathize and let him in. that is a true story and really is what calcified the sour taste in my mouth for this band.

sorry hbrsb for getting off the topic of youre guys's success

And this ^^^ is why I said they are over-rated. They are truly wonderful folks as I've had the pleasure of hanging out with them, but on a purely musical level, for me that is, they are just OK. I know lots of folks who LOVE them and I respect their opinions, but I just don't get it or hear it for that matter...
