Black Rebel Motorcycle Club will headline a spring tour that will start with support from The Fratellis in San Diego on May 6 and have them touring through June. The tour will fall on the wings of the release of their fourth album, Baby 81, out May 1st on RCA Records. With their 2005 critically acclaimed album, Howl, BRMC proved their stalwart musicianship with their own brand of stripped down Americana and are now deftly transitioning back towards the color-saturated wash of guitars that made fans fall for the band in the first place.

Not a bad song, but I much prefer Fatboy Slim's "Weapon Of Choice". If Black Rebel can get Walken for the music video, then I'll be able to compare the two subjectively.

why are bands no one has ever heard of on the main Jambase articles list?

You whiny bitches must have brains the size of peanuts. If it's not some heady noodling jamband you go crying to mommy. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club is kick ass rock 'n roll. I know I'll be going to their show when they roll through Austin. Do everyone a favor and shut the funk up.

BRMC is the shit - they have a sound all their own, but Americana is a good label. Think Velvet Underground meets Wilco. And pabloescobar, you are a certified jackass. Go back to PT.
This probably is the press release you idiot. Its news, not a show write up.

I prefered the rootsy sound of Howl but I still like this song and their more guitar heavy sound. I've been dying to see them live but don't know if I want to make the journey to Philly or New York though.

Who the hell doesn't know this band? I would not walk around admitting that.

BRMC is incredible live - some of the best rock 'n roll going on. Can't wait for the album.

I think that Jambase likes putting lots of different bands up because they assume that most of us like listening to new and different good music. Hey guys this may sound crazy, but turns out you can actually listen to, and like different kinds of music. Yep it's a crazy world we live in.

oops pablo , guess you spoke too soon on this one.
yes almost everybody has heard of brmc
did anyone ever see the documentary about the brian jonestown massacre?? i think one of the guys from brmc is from that band
i think the doc. was called " dig "
if you get a chance check it out it also includes the dandy warhols in a sort of arch nemisis role but the best part of it is this guy who is frontman for bjm he is totally psycho
the band gets in fights with themselves and people in the crowds at shows... too crazy to explain but its f'in funny shit!!!

montra1 - there was a time whan you could go to this site and start learning about all kinds of cool new bands that you would probably not hear of otherwise - a big part of why i have been coming to this site for years. now what i do when i learn of a new band on jambase is i look to see if the band is on some big label...than i look to see what kind of tour dates the band has. I ask myself: do these look like the tour dates of a small working band that could use my support? does this band seem to be trying to build a following based on live performance or are they touring in support od a major label release?

I have not heard this band but i assume that they dont need my immediate support to make the buisiness. Ill just read about them in Rolling Stone when the time comes (c'mon...we all know they will be in there)

I know what you mean by checking out new and upcoming bands. But you shouldn't discard a group simply because of their record label affiliation or venue locations. Who knows this could be the next band that changes your life.

ok - heres what im talking about - compare these dates to the tour dates of a band like Delta Nove>>>

How did we get as far as we did with this whole Jamband thing? was it the major labels? (no) Why should we hand it over to the man now that we have built somthing meaningfull? (we shouldnt)

sorry if this seems negative to anyone.

j- im looking foreward to checking BRMC go to the Virgin Megastore later today and see what they are all about...

all im saying is that with all of the money that MCA is pouring into promoting its bands i think ill hear of them without the help of my grassroots jamband network.

All Loving Liberal White Guy

Pablo Escobar, you need to lay of toot and relax some, son. Listen to 10 minutes of BRMC's "Howl" and tell me that you're not amazed. As for refering to Kayceman as a "whiny little emo kid", I'm going to give you a virtual bitchslap. Go back playing hackey sack and hanging out with that dude from Harold and Kumar that listens to Phish and writes lame poetry.

pablo...kacyman has been writing about Phish and other jam friendly stuff here forever. i have read alot of great stories he has written. while it is probably true that a bit of the release made its way into the article (this is typical industry shit - can anyone tell me why im suddenly dealing with this kind of shit HERE..the last place i have come to expect it???) but....

calling someone names because they feel differently about music or they are paid to have a story on the bosses desk by noon tomorrow is in no way progress. why dont you try to make your point without shooting the messenger?

hey...anyone seen ALO's new tour dates?

I am so freakin excited I don't know what to say. I've been checking their site for months in anticipation of the tour announcement. If you haven't heard them yet, do rock n roll a favor and buy their albums. Are they a jamband? I don't care. Are they on a major record label? I don't care (story is actually pretty interesting if you look into it).

What I do care about is music, and these 3 guys bring it. Do you like hard-driving shredding on the guitar? Do you like layers of sound circling and blasting your eardrums? Like thoughtful lyrics about love, life, spirituality, and redemption? See y'all at Webster Hall.
